Dancing with the cars...

It's only 9.30am here in L.A. but today I must, must, must do some revision of the Californian Highway Code for my written driving test next Monday.
Los Angeles Freeway Burbank
But before I crack on and stop being distracted, I have to update you all on last night's gem of Americana - Dancing with the Stars.

A remake of the Beeb's Strictly Come Dancing, with a dash of Hollywood glitter and glamour(!), but I can't help but think it's not as good as the original.

They may have some of the UK judges, Len Dancing with the Stars US TV promo posterGoodman and Bruno Tonioli, and a third Amercian judge, Carrie Ann Inaba, but they are missing the performance wow and awe of Alesha Dixon, Matt Di Angelo and Gethin Jones.

I have to say the costumes are not as beautiful, they have distracting commercial ad breaks, the teeth are just so shiny and white
and Bruno's accent is just all over the place!!

There's also a hint of desperation in this, their sixth season. To try and top the dancing one-legged, Heather Mills, this year they have a deaf actress, Marlee Matlin, (who received an Academy Award for Best Actress at 21 for Children of a Lesser God), she can't hear the music, but she quite Dancing with the Stars USA logoamazingly can keep in time with the music and has great 'musicality'.

The other headline grabber is Priscilla Presley, who at 60+ can move around the dance floor well, that is, aside from her face (one face lift too far or maybe a mini-stroke?!?).

Last week in the first double eviction, magician and comedian, Penn Jillette (of Penn & Teller fame), and tennis star, Monica Seles, went out of the contest. This week my prediction for being voted off is American comedian and radio personality, Adam Carolla.

Anyway, back to the revision...
