Dog-Blog: Puppy's first Runyon Canyon walk - part two (plus more eating our way around L.A.)...

We had great fun Saturday on our walk with Cooper around Runyon Canyon, as you can see from the photos below, so after the three mile trek, we humans thought we'd earned a slap up meal in the evening.

We wanted to try a different restaurant for a change and so chose another local eatery within walking distance in West Hollywood, Cafe La Boheme at 8400 Santa Monica Blvd.

Continuing our tradition of eating our way around L.A., we had a lovely meal in the pretty outside courtyard.  All three of us had fantastic courses, the menu had such a great selection of dishes it was hard to choose which ones to have.  I had a lovely Asian pear salad to start followed by a tasty scallop entrée, plus we all sampled some of the award-winning deserts (obviously well deserved after our calorie burning walk at Runyon).

Cafe La Boheme has a dramatic interior dining area alongside the relaxing courtyard, with a smart casual dress code (which is a refreshing change from ultra laid-back L.A. style) and is slightly pricier than some of the other restaurants we've dined at recently, but it's a lovely little hidden gem that you may overlook as you walk by on Santa Monica Blvd. We are looking forward to returning soon to sample some of the other delicious dishes on offer.

So after our healthy exercise at Runyon Canyon on Saturday, Sunday turned into another eating and drinking extravaganza.  After a week where various L.A. friends had accompanied me to the O-Bar and Cheesecake Factory, on Wednesday and Thursday respectively, to entertain me whilst Charlie was away in Tokyo, on Sunday morning we started with a brunch at Aroma Cafe on Tujunga Avenue in Studio City.

I'm not sure if it was all the early morning walks with Cooper or all the nights out, or a combination of the two, but after Aroma I needed a lie down before we were off out again to The Abbey for some cocktails and Bossa Nova for a Brazilian bite to eat.

Everyone was out enjoying the sunny Sunday evening and making the most of the Labor Day weekend and for once I wasn't the drunkest person around.

We even had a celebrity sighting at The Abbey - Michael Moloney, one of the designers from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

I'm thinking that today we may need another invigorating walk to blow away the cobwebs, burn some more calories and wear Cooper out.

Bye for now...
