It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at The Grove and Farmers Market in L.A...

Tick-tock, tick-tock, goes that clock counting down to Christmas.  Only around eighteen more shopping days left until the big day and Santa comes down the chimney.

I like shopping at The Grove in L.A. at the best of times, as it's a nice shopping experience where you can mill around a nice selection of stores without having to drive from place to place or be enclosed in a soulless mall environment.
The Grove festive decorations
At this time of year it's even better as the dancing fountains are joined by an enormous festive tree, hanging decorations, fairytale gingerbread house and a flying reindeer drawn Santa sleigh.  It's almost making me feel festive in L.A.

What's not to like about a colourful gingerbread house adorned with candy, cakes and Frosty the Snowman.

Obviously let's not forget the Gingerbread Man himself...

You'd better watch you don't melt in all the L.A. sunshine Mr. Frosty...

As well as the main street, the shops themselves also have great decorations, including this jolly Apple Store Santa...

My friends know that I'm not a big fan of markets, but it's always nice to walk over to the Farmers Market for a stroll or to get a bite to eat.

Even though their decorations don't have the same razzmatazz as The Grove, they still add some festive cheer amongst the palm trees and tropical flowers.

You can't beat a traditional Christmas tree or a nice festive garland...

No matter how commercial it may all seem, it still has a certain Christmas magic with all the red, green and gold, lights in the trees, the fountains dancing away all aglow and Father Christmas flying over head with his trusty reindeer.

How festive! I remember going there decades ago when our tour bus made a stop there. Strange, but there was a tour bus that brought in tourists.

There are still buses that drop off tourists - just like this one:
