You should all realise by now that I love the multitude of advertising billboards that bring much needed colour and visual interest to L.A.'s architecturally challenged landscape.
Here's another installment of the recent poster sites for movies, fashion, TV and drinks brands dotted around L.A.
Probably my most anticipated movie of the year is X-Men Origins, starring the lovely Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Out on the 1st May, I'm suitably impressed by the eye-catching billboard campaign, I just hope it's not a cinematic disappointment.
Disney Pixar's latest offering UP opens on 29th May, whilst Race to Witch Mountain was a bit of a disappointing remake, but the bright and colourful billboard really stood out on Sunset Boulevard.
Dreamworks Monsters Vs Aliens is doing well at the box office and their fun 'Bob' billboard really stands out around L.A.
This next billboard captures the excitement I feel about the new Star Trek movie reboot out on the 8th May. It's got the classic shape of the Enterprise and it looks like it's zooming at warp speed off the poster site - very cool!
Tom Hanks' follow up to The Da Vinci Code movie, Angels & Demons, opens on the 15th May 2009.
Meanwhile on the 17th April it's time to see if Zac Efron can carry a whole movie on his own in 17 Again - wait he already did that in High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
The Fast & Furious gang reunite - well at least the poster looks cool, regardless of what the movie is like.
The Watchmen watch over the streets of Hollywood.
The massively underrated Frost/Nixon movie billboard on Franklin Avenue.
Fashion and beauty billboards
This colourful Spa Luce billboard really stands out from afar to advertise the spa at the Renaissance Hotel at the Hollywood & Highland Center, whilst this eye-catching Gucci fragrance billboard was snapped along Sunset Boulevard.
One of the things I love about the billboard sites in L.A. is that they can be so huge and arresting, like this advertisement for the third season of The Tudors on the side of the Hyatt Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. Obviously it also helps when you have someone like Jonathan Rhys Meyers sitting atop a throne of naked bodies to grab your attention.
I like the two following billboards for TV shows on the History Channel because of their simplicity and stand out against the Cailfornia sky.
Although the 'Axmen' with the extra emphasis on the 'X', playing on those 'X-Men' connotations, helped to catch my eye too.
Next up is a colourful extra large poster site for The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency TV series, which has real impact as you're driving east along Sunset Blvd.
The final TV show billboard is a slightly disturbing image for Delocated, a comedy show which apparently parodies reality TV shows.
Rounding off this installment of cool billboards is this colourful advertisement for Absolut Mango Vodka, which looks especially appealing against the deep blue L.A. sky.
So it seems that after the crisis of blank billboards around L.A. at the beginning of the year, a plethora of new and imaginative images have sprung up to fill any gaps in the city skyline.
