Five favourite images of Los Angeles and California so far...

Yesterday was a sad day in American history when the California Supreme Court ruled that a slim majority of voters could eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry.

Rather than dwell on this negative outcome, instead I am hopeful for a better tomorrow when gay people will have the same rights as opposite-sex couples, just like Harvey Milk said "You gotta give 'em hope".

The only bright outcome is that the 18,000 gay couples who did marry before the discriminatory Proposition 8 came into effect, won't be forced to divorce.

So I decided my blog entry today would be positive and upbeat, and about my favourite images of Los Angeles and Southern California to date, because it's still a lovely place to live.

And there you have just a small personal selection of images from the past fourteen months here in L.A. and Southern California.

Let's hope that in the coming months I can capture more memories on camera and that California and the rest of America will stop the discrimination and support equality by allowing gay couples to marry and give them the same rights as the rest of the population.

I have hope that change is coming...
