Discover the secrets of The Informant for yourself...

What at first seems to be a simple film about a bumbling buffoon of a businessman turned corporate snitch, soon becomes something a bit more intriguing and full of surprises. That's why you have to go see The Informant for yourself as the movie is more than it at first appears.

The film plot concerns the FBI's investigation of international price-fixing in the agricultural world in the 90's, following a tip-off from company vice president Mark Whitacre (played by Matt Damon).

Hilarity ensues when Whitacre, under pressure from the FBI, agrees to covertly record these illegal company meetings with industry competitors. A lot of the witty, dry humour also comes from his own internal running commentary.

Matt Damon's performance is great and you have to give credit, not only for transforming himself into this overweight specimen, but also for the hair and makeup involved which makes him look totally different by the end of the movie.

It really is his movie, he wholeheartedly inhabits the role and no one else really has that much to do, as it really is all about his character's story.

The film is about deception. The lies that people tell, both big corporations and individuals, and about how the tales you tell can spin out of control and take on a life of their own.

I give the movie three *** stars and think you should go and see this quirky comedy for yourselves.

Let me know what you think...
