"Holy Halloween Batman!"

What could be more fun than running around West Hollywood dressed as Robin, the Boy Wonder himself, than to have his partner in crime, the Caped Crusader, Batman, at his side.
Marvel heroes team-up with DC Comics crime-fighters

What's more, we even tracked down a few fellow heroes from the worlds of Marvel, DC and beyond the stars to aid us with our crime-fighting efforts (or just to pose for a photo or two).
The Thing, Thor, Psylocke, The Silver Surfer, Iron Fist, Wolverine, Ghost Rider and Phoenix welcomed us with open arms and we even stopped to free Princess Leia from the clutches of a dastardly Stormtrooper.
Star Wars costumed characters

We started our nightly patrol on the rooftops of WEHO overlooking the Hollywood Hills at an exclusive 'invitation only' costume party (all the better to blend in in our superhero uniforms).
Keeping an eye on suspicious characters

The masked ball was hosted by a glamourous Duchess and as you know, the Dynamic Duo always have time to rescue or protect a damsel (or even a Duchess) in distress.
Guarding royalty (well a queen at least)

After we performed our guard duties, we took to the bustling streets and started our journey up the closed Santa Monica Boulevard, from La Cienega Blvd to Doheny Drive.
Justice League heroes

Last year was our first time to the annual West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval and I went undercover as Spider-man and met some of his amazing friends.

This year the Boulevard was rammed and so much busier than in 2008, probably due to the fact it was a Saturday night and it was the perfect evening to be out and about in costume.
West Hollywood heroes

Amongst the masked vigilantes, ghouls and camera-wielding spectators, we discovered several Batman and Robin impostors, trying to fool the local public into thinking they were the real deal.
Dynamic Duo?
Batmen and Robins
Batman and Robins?

Catwoman claws her way into the picture

We soon set about changing that perception with some heroic deeds and by fraternising with our friends in the local law enforcement agencies we're used to working with.
Keeping West Hollywood streets safe

When all else failed we resorted to a few well placed BAMS and KER-POWS to see off those pesky imitators.
Battle of the Boy Wonders

Along the way we also made sure to arrest any suspicious wrong-doers and even our arch-nemesis, the sadistic Joker (cunningly disguised as a nurse).
There's no escape for The Joker

With all our foes locked up it was time to head home and hang up the tights for the night.
"Come on Robin, to the Bat Cave! There's not a moment to lose!"
Be sure to come back tomorrow to see more of the fabulous sights from this year's West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval...
