My recent experiments of showcasing our pup in mono and many of L.A.'s famous landmarks in black and white inspired me to apply the same reasoning to Christmas imagery from around Los Angeles.
This particular selection of images were photographed last year at The Grove and The Farmers Market.
I'm happy, but maybe a bit disappointed, to report that the decorations haven't changed much from year to year and the same Santa's Sleigh, gingerbread house and gigantic decorated tree grace the popular shopping and dining destination.
Some of the night time Christmas lights work well in black and white, but I'm not sure about Christmas without a bit of colour - red, green, gold, silver and more.
So, is it beginning to feel a lot like Christmas for you yet? In an effort to feel more festive we 'trimmed up' yesterday.
It's amazing what a difference a tree and some twinkling lights can make and now that the weather has suddenly turned all autumnal here in L.A. I can start to believe that Christmas is just around the corner.
Only eighteen days to go now, most importantly let's hope Santa knows where to find us to leave all those presents...
