In addition to all the film, TV and music billboards around L.A. in May, there was also an impressive collection of fashion and lifestyle billboards to enjoy this month.
To kick things off is this fun Marc Jacobs billboard, featuring a hot male model, who looks like a giant next to that merry-go-round. The billboard was snapped gracing the roof of their Melrose Avenue flagship store.
Next up is another giant model, this time former The Hills star, Audrina Patridge, in her Bongo bikini towering over L.A.'s Sunset Strip this month.
Emporio Armani uses their regular billboard location to promote its rather nice, contemporary Sportivo watch.
Aldo Shoes continues their youthful, fun campaign around L.A. with this billboard in Westwood. Be sure to check out more Aldo Shoes ads at Daily Billboard.
Charles David had this perky billboard for its shoe and bag brand along Sunset Boulevard.
Hale Bob continued to get ready for Summer with its latest relaxed billboard creative.
Meanwhile all eyes we on Gucci's sexy new sunglasses billboard along the Sunset Strip.
One of my favourite fashion ads this past month, was this creative for Gridlock jeans with that male model's broad shoulders. Sadly I couldn't capture a clean version of this billboard without the telegraph wires overheard casting their shadows.
Finally, this small billboard for Siwy denim jeans stood out with its simple white creative against that wonderful blue California sky.
Health and Fitness billboards
GNC continue to have a presence around L.A. for their vitamin and health supplements, like this double billboard along Sunset Boulevard. Be sure to check out two other GNC Live Well billboards from previous months.
Another billboard which could also fall into fashion, is this cool billboard for Nike Air Max running shoes over their flagship store in San Francisco's Union Square.
This month Skyy Vodka continues to delight with their vibrant and red hot campaign. This melting ice cube creative is their latest ad, whilst I also managed to snap this 'unzipped' version up in San Francisco on a recent visit too.
Not to be left out, Belvedere Vodka has been promoting its new Bloody Mary variant trying to capture the attention of the Summer brunch crowd.
From Polish vodka to a Belgian beer and this Leffe beer ad made me smile with its simple and clever strapline this month. Funnily enough, Leffe beer was one of the first brands that I had to tackle when doing my Marketing degree, so it had even more significance for me even though I'm not a beer drinker.
Dos Equis XX lager didn't want to be left out in May either with this billboard along L.A.'s Sunset Strip.
But probably one of my favourites this month was this Jack Daniels whisky and cola bottle variant on ice billboard.
It really stood out with its special extension beyond the standard billboard format, which I always appreciate.
I'm really not a huge fan of Gordon Ramsey as a personality, he just seems like an awful person, but his food is lovely.
Virgin America has returned to the skies of L.A. with another fun campaign for its U.S. airline this month. Be sure to check out even more new Virgin America billboards at Daily Billboard.
I rarely feature car billboards in my round-ups, mainly because they are usually dull and boring affairs, but I do like this colourful creative and the nice environmentally-friendly element for the new Nissan LEAF.
Finally this month, is this powerful PETA anti-experimenting on animals billboard along Westwood Boulevard. Interestingly enough days earlier further along the same street I spotted the opposite argument on another billboard which pictured a white rat and a baby girl, asking people to decide which life they'd rather save (sadly it had disappeared when I went back to photograph it).
If you like all these, be sure to check Daily billboard every day for the latest fashion, alcohol and lifestyle billboards...
