As it is such a gloriously sunny day I couldn't resist snapping a few photos of the newest addition to West Hollywood's colourful landscape, the Sal Guarriello Veterans' Memorial Water Fountain.
West Hollywood's Veterans' Memorial Fountain
When it was first unveiled I thought it looked a bit like a giant flower pot, but upon reflection and seeing the water flowing from it, it now looks like a very pretty over-sized flower pot.
Apparently the recent addition was always intended to be added to the memorial which was built in 2003 and it's named after the late councilman who was a champion for military veterans.
You can find the new fountain at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Holloway Drive, in from of original Barney's Beanery on Route-66.
Other nearby sights include the On Route-66 Lights public art installation, but they really are best seen at night.
This fountain looks great against that blue Californian sky and looks equally interesting illuminated at night.
Long may the sun shine...
