There's something incredibly whimsical about the new Boy with Frog sculpture on display in the arrival plaza at The Getty Center.
Boy with Frog sculpture - Charles Ray, 2009
The white painted fiberglass statue of a boy holding a frog by its leg is by Charles Ray from 2009.
It's funny but in this photo it looks like the lady in the 'Air' sculpture is squeamishly moving away from the boy and his amphibian friend.
This 8-foot-tall sculpture was only added recently in July this year to the steps up to the museum's main entrance and according to the Getty's website will be on display there until January 2012.
It's been a while since I've visited The Getty Center and it's nice to discover something new there, as well as old favourites like the all the outdoor pieces in the Fran and Ray Stark Sculpture Gardens.
There's always a reason to come back to enjoy The Getty...
