Halloween Time comes to Disneyland (and so do I)...

With friends in town from the U.K. it was the perfect excuse to take a trip to Disneyland and enjoy Halloween Time at the happiest place on Earth.

Disneyland Halloween Time
It may still be over a month away, but Halloween is fast approaching, so it was nice to get in the festive mood with some themed character pumpkins and rides.

Of course traipsing around the theme park all day sure builds up an appetite and that heat in Anaheim is a killer too, so what better way to cool off than with the biggest, most magical ice-cream ever.
Enjoying Disneyland icecream
I'm a big fan of Tim Burton's The Nightmare before Christmas so it was great to see The Haunted Mansion decked out with Jack Skellington and his Halloweentown friends.

With only a day to fit in two parks and so many rides it all becomes a bit of a Disney whirlwind, but we did manage to ride my favourite rollercoaster California Screamin' twice, the new Star Tours ride, Halloween-themed Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and to check out the new Cars Land, plus more besides.

I usually love all rides at amusement parks, but from now on Mickey's Fun Wheel will forever be known as 'Mickey's Wheel of Terror' as the giant ferris wheel was my least favourite ride of the day. The height was not an issue, but the swinging gondolas were simply awful (especially after a super-sized ice-cream) and no fun for me at all.

And even with all those rides we still found time to try out the local fashion, although were able to refrain from purchasing. After all, you can only really wear these hats at Disneyland, where you're allowed to be a kid again for the day.

So lots of sun, fun and treats were had by all...
