A magical and merry Christmas Day...

Christmas Day truly is the most magical day of the year for me.

Christmas presents 2012
It's not just the tree covered in baubles, all the presents wrapped so thoughtfully, the smell of turkey roasting in the oven or festive music playing in the background, its all of the above and being able to spend it with the ones you love the most.

Santa was once again very kind to our household and even our Labrador Cooper's stocking was full to overflowing with toys and treats (which isn't very different from any other day really).

After phone calls and webcams with our family across the Atlantic, it was down to the important business of drinking champagne and opening our presents. Once Cooper had opened all his gifts he was kept occupied for a few minutes with a bullystick and his new bear toy.

With the dinner cooking we unwrapped our presents and then were able to settle down to our favourite meal of the year, which always leaves us full to bursting. This year I even managed to find some great looking Christmas crackers to make the day go with even more of a bang.

After several helpings of succulent turkey, roast parsnips and potatoes, brussels sprouts in maple syrup and bacon, sweet potatoes in brandy sauce, cranberry sauce, peas, broccoli, cranberry stuffing and lashings of gravy, it was time for a well earned rest, puppy included.

Now we've had time for our food to go down and a nice walk to feel like we've had some exercise today, it's time to dive in to the traditional Christmas Pudding, which means there'll be no moving from the sofa later.

However you've celebrated today, I hope it's been fun-filled, stress-free and most of all, merry...
