Eye-catching TV and movie billboards around L.A. in November...

Wow, is it the end of November already? The skies of L.A. have certainly been chock full of billboards in 2012 and November has been no exception, especially when it comes to television and movie billboards.

TV billboards
Giant Liz Dick Lifetime billboard Hollywood
This month saw the ultimate car crash TV event being advertised in a big way. Hailed as the comeback of Lindsay Lohan, the Lifetime TV movie was a critical flop and I'm sure it was watched more for how truly awful it was, rather than for any real entertainment value. Lifetime did spend bucket loads of money on billboards for Liz & Dick, so be sure to check them all out.
Giant Game of Thrones season 3 teaser billboard
There really were a glut of super-sized billboards in November, but the biggest tease had to be for the third season of Game of Thrones along Sunset Boulevard, which doesn't even air until the end of next March.
Next Iron Chef Redemption giant billboard
Previous season contestants return for the fifth season of The Next Iron Chef and the Food Network have at least tried to appear a tad more original than simply calling it 'Allstars' by naming the season 'Redemption'. I do like this giant phoenix creative in the heart of Hollywood though.
NBA basketball TNT Thursdays billboard
And just a few blocks over in Hollywood this wall mural for NBA TNT Thursdays adds a splash of colour to the neighborhood.
Giant Eddie Murphy One Night Only billboard
Eddie Murphy gets a super-sized billboard to match his notorious super-sized ego for Spike TV's special tribute to the comedian.
Mankind TV billboard
This month The History Channel brought us the story of us all in their new series Mankind.
Dexter season 7 finale billboard
Whilst another season came to an end with this ominous billboard for the seventh season finale of Dexter.
Witness Juarez HBO billboard
Meanwhile HBO brought us a billboard for the start of a series of four documentaries about contemporary photo journalists in hot spots around the world.
Wedding Band billboard
Lightening the mood in November was this bright and fun billboard for new TBS comedy, Wedding Band, starring Brian Austin Green.
Superjail! season 3 billboard
And Adult Swim brought us another surreal and slightly bonkers billboard for the third season of the animated series, Superjail!
Family Guy cartoon TV billboard
Plus for more mainstream animated comedy there was this fun Family Guy billboard.

Movie billboards
Giant Hobbit billboard
Advertising for The Hobbit's first cinematic installment kicked into high gear with this giant-sized billboard on the side of the Sofitel Hotel along Beverly Boulevard, plus a raft of new creatives for the movie like this Gollum billboard.
Hobbit Gollum billboard
Disney's Wreck-It Ralph surprised everyone at the box office with a great result and I spied this giant pixelated billboard along Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood earlier this month.
Giant Wreck It Ralph movie billboard
If you liked the movie, be sure to check out all of these Wreck-It Ralph movie billboards.
Giant Lincoln movie billboard
Another giant billboard gracing the skies in November was this huge creative for Oscar hopeful Lincoln.
Rise of the Guardians special installation movie billboard
Meanwhile it may have underperformed at the box office (although maybe bringing out a Christmas-themed movie for Thanksgiving was the wrong timing), but I loved the highly visible billboard ad campaign for DreamWorks Rise of the Guardians.
Giant Rise of Guardians movie billboard
Batman and Bane rise once more in the skies of L.A. this month for the Blu-ray release of The Dark Knight Rises.
Dark Knight Rises Bluray billboard
And The Rolling Stones celebrated 50 years in the business with HBO's documentary film Crossfire Hurricane and this eye-catching massive billboard along L.A.'s infamous Sunset Strip.
Rolling Stones Crossfire Hurricane documentary movie billboard
The box office blockbuster hope for Christmas is the big screen adaptation of the Les Misérables musical and who can blame them with the likes of Broadway leading man and Hollywood movie star Hugh Jackman leading the all-star cast.
Les Miserables movie billboard
And finally this Epix movie billboard campaign has been around for a while, but I'd not managed to capture a picture of this Tom Cruise creative for Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol before now.
Epix Ghost Protocol movie billboard
And that's it for this month's movie and television billboard round-up. Be sure to check out my Daily Billboard blog for all the very latest ad creatives and multiple formats on a daily basis and come back next month for more collections of the best billboards that L.A. has to offer.

Now let the countdown to Christmas begin...

Technology, games and lifestyle billboards around L.A. in November...

Every other day there seems to be a new version of a smartphone, tablet, computer or operating software released, so it's no wonder that the skies are filled with billboards this month for loads of technology and telecommunications brands (and oh so conveniently just in time for Christmas). Here's a round-up of the best tech ads, plus video games and other lifestyle billboards dotting the skies of L.A. in November.

Technology billboards
Books movies Roku billboard
Some technology companies get it so wrong by simply resorting to showing your their products, which isn't very imaginative, whilst others use humour and clever design to draw you in like these billboards for Roku and their digital streamers for movies, TV shows and music. Don't forget that books make for great reading too!
Sonos Janelle Monae billboard
Then there's tech companies like Sonos that use celebrities and recording artists, together with quirky creatives, to help reinforce their coolness and music credentials. If you like this ad, be sure to check out the Sonos billboard featuring DJ Deadmau5 for their wireless HiFi system.Giant Samsung Galaxy Note II billboard
Samsung have claimed this super-sized billboard site on the side of the Mondrian Hotel for the past six months to promote their smartphones and this is the latest for the Galaxy Note II.
Windows Phone billboard
Meanwhile Microsoft has timed the launch of their new Windows Phone and Surface tablet perfectly for the start of the gift-giving season.
Giant Surface billboard
They also spent a fortune on giant-sized billboards along Sunset Boulevard and a heavy-weight ad campaign for their new products around the streets of L.A.
Giant Surface billboard
Another computer manufacturer, Acer, nabbed this super-sized location on the side of West Hollywood's Andaz Hotel to support their new Aspire S7 touch ultrabook, which claims to be the world's thinnest. Shame their ad is so dull and uninspiring though.
Giant Acer Aspire S7 touch ultrabook billboard
If they want to know how it's done right, they should really take a leaf out of Apple's book, who seem to effortlessly produce desirable looking products and clever advertising, like this witty creative for their new iPad mini.
Apple iPad mini billboard

Game billboards
Giant Call of Duty Black Ops 2 game billboard
It's not just the big tech companies that are having a huge presence around Los Angeles this month though, as video games also dominate the city skyline in a big way, like this imposing creative along the Sunset Strip for Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
Assassins Creed 3 video game billboard
I also liked this eye-catching billboard for Assassin's Creed III too, although I'm always a sucker for  good special extension.
Disney Epic Mickey 2 video game billboard
Plus for more of an all-ages crowd there was this billboard for Disney's Epic Mickey 2 sequel video game, where the infamous mouse is joined by Walt Disney's first cartoon creation, 'Oswald the Lucky Rabbit'.

Travel billboards
GBDC Palms Las Vegas billboard
Palms Las Vegas casino and resort had this fun take on the GCB TV series billboard for their own ghostbar dayclub.
Virgin America Fly with Live TV billboard
And there were more creatives from Virgin America's new Fly with ad campaign lining the skies at the start of the month, just in time for the Thanksgiving mass exodus.
Frog LA Zoo billboard
And for something closer to home that is less of a drive or air flight away, L.A. Zoo was bringing slimy back with this great ad for their Lair attraction.

Performing Arts billboards
Anything Goes musical billboard LA
Of course the run up to the Holidays is a great time to take in a musical as a family and it looks like the touring version of Anything Goes is in town to entertain audiences.

Publishing billboards
John McKays First National Championship book billboard
Meanwhile someone else was taking advantage of the run up to Christmas with this billboard for 'The book', which is I'm sure is hoping it will be a sticking filler for all American Football fans.

Health and causes billboards
96 per cent effective condom billboard
AIDS Healthcare Foundation continued their essential safe sex campaign this month with this clever new billboard, even more necessary to remind people who may be having a little too much to drink around the holiday party season.
Nelson Mandela Inspiration Values billboard
And for this round-up I'll leave you this inspirational billboard featuring Nelson Mandela, who demonstrated exactly what one person can do for the world.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for this month's best TV and movie billboards...

Fashion, fragrance and drinks billboards around L.A. in November...

This month fashion and drinks brands both got ready for the forthcoming holiday season with lots of billboards to help you look good for all those festive parties, or gift ideas like footwear and fragrances, or even a bottle of something to make someone merry.

Fashion billboards
Aldo FW 2012 billboard
One of my favorite fashion billboards filling L.A.'s skies this month was this bold and vibrant ad for Aldo, who are incidentally celebrating 40 years in the footwear and accessory business. If you like this creative, be sure to check out more Aldo Shoe billboards from 2012's Fall Winter season.
UGG Men special extension billboard
Meanwhile this cool special extension billboard appeared along Sunset Boulevard for UGG Australia for Men.
UGG animal print slippers billboard
Plus lots more UGG slippers and boots billboards have appeared in this run up to Christmas, like this animal print example.
Armani Exchange Holidays 2012 billboard
Other fashion brands are getting into the Holiday spirit with festive ads like this festive Armani Exchange billboard over their Sunset Plaza flagship store.
Burberry umbrellas billboard
And whilst AX is preparing for snow, British fashion house Burberry knows a lot more about keeping dry in rainy season.
Banana Republic Anna Karenina fashion billboard
In the same way that it had a limited-edition Mad Men Collection, Banana Republic was advertising it's luxurious Anna Karenina inspired capsule collection to tie-in with the release of the new Keira Knightley movie this month.

Be sure to also check out actual movie costumes worn in Anna Karenina on display.
Jockey Major curves ahead Rachel Zoe billboard
And just as Banana Republic give you some ideas of what to wear for party season, super-stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe, helps you get the perfect curves underneath women's clothes with Jockey's Shapewear.

This month there were quite a few handsome faces filling L.A.'s skies, like Tyson Ballou in mono for Calvin Klein Collection.
Calvin Klein Collection eyewear 2012 billboard
And there was a whole gaggle of buff specimens showing off their pecs and abs for Saks Fifth Avenue men's store in Beverly Hills.
Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills Mens store billboard
Not to mention visions in gold for 2(x)ist's new men's underwear range.
2(x)ist Gold mens underwear billboard
Or something more Athletic, both making perfect gifts for Christmas for a loved one.
2(x)ist Athletic underwear billboard
From precious metals to precious gems and these ads for the Diamond Supply Co. seem to everywhere around the streets of L.A. at the moment.
Diamond Supply Co billboard Hollywood
The funny thing is they have nothing to do with diamonds and more to do with clothes and footwear, who knew.
Diamond Supply Simplicity brilliance billboard
And am I the only person out there who's getting a bit of hashtag fatigue in communications and advertising.
Diamond Life billboard

Fragrance billboards
Chanel No5 Brad Pitt fragrance billboard
Brad Pitt graced the Sunset Strip this month as the first male face of Chanel No.5 perfume.
Perry Ellis Aqua fragrance billboard
Whilst there's something about this billboard for Perry Ellis Aqua cologne that stands out, maybe it's the piercing eyes of male model Nir Lavi.

Drinks billboards
Smirnoff Iced Cake vodka billboard
I've recently discovered I'm not a fan of flavoured vodka, but I do like the egg yolk colour of this billboard for Smirnoff Vodka's Iced Cake variant.
Giant Absolut Greyhound Vodka billboard
Meanwhile Absolut Vodka have been making a big splash in November with giant billboards and special installations for its Greyhound cocktail ad campaign. Pretty eye-catching stuff.
Absolut Greyhound Vodka special installation billboard
I also spotted another creative this month from Sobieski Vodka's witty new ad campaign.
Sobieski Vodka Still made in Poland billboard
Plus even my favourite tipple, Grey Goose Vodka, got in on the action to help celebrate the holiday season in style and with 'exceptional taste'.
Grey Goose Vodka Celebrate season billboard
Patrón received a fashion makeover for its bottle stopper from John Varvatos making it the perfect gift for tequila lovers and making for a cool special extension billboard.
Patron Tequila John Varvatos special edition billboard
Plus here's another witty Day of the Dead-inspired Espolón Tequila billboard creative that stuck around this month.
Espolon Tequila Tickle danger bone billboard
Don Julio didn't mince any words with its new ad and basically said, if you're going to buy one tequila for anyone, buy ours because it's the best.
Don Julio Tequila gift billboard
And for whisky drinkers out there here's the latest Johnnie Walker billboard for their Double Black offering.
Johnnie Walker Double Black billboard
On the soft beverage side of things, Sprite had this cool new creative from its basketball campaign. If you like this, be sure to check out the Sprite special installation basketball hoop from New York's Times Square.
Sprite basketball billboard
And another non-alcholic drink billboard stood out this month, mainly because I don't seem to see Yakult as much in supermarket and groceries stores here in the U.S. as I did in the U.K. and I'm sure they were sold in packs of six and not five back home.
Yakult Probiotic drink billboard Hollywood
As you can see it's been a busy month for billboards around L.A. and there's still TV, movie, technology and other lifestyle billboard round-ups still to come, so stay tuned.

Keep your eyes to the skies...
