Beverly Hills captivating new Endless V sculpture...

Now here's a great way to start February. The other day whilst out running along Santa Monica Boulevard on one of my weekly marathon training maintenance runs I came across this beguiling sculpture which had just appeared.

Endless V sculpture by Jaume Plensa from 2012

A vision in stainless steel, this sitting figure looks like it's draped in a blanket of symbols and characters from all kinds of languages.

In the daylight it's even more intriguing as it gleams in the sunshine, and offers a unique perspective from every angle you look at it.

You can find this wonderful piece by Jaume Plensa in Beverly Gardens Park at Beverly Drive.

The work really has a fantastic otherworldly quality to it and it's almost like it's sitting there minding it's own business, watching the traffic go by along busy Santa Monica Boulevard.

The sculpture is in good company as it's not far from the colourful Hymn of Life tulips sculpture and they've also moved Roxy Paine's Erratic sculpture from it's previous location to be nearer to this collection of outdoor art too.

I love creative sculptures like this and think it's fascinating. I really could look at this one for hours and maybe that's why it's called 'Endless V'.

This is a welcome addition to Beverly Hills and in my mind far more interesting than some of the shiny expensive things you can buy in the shops along Rodeo Drive.

Let's hope the rest of 2013 is filled with many more delights and discoveries like this one...
