Fab film costume and prop exhibits around L.A. of late...

Even though there've not been such an abundance of movie exhibits over the summer months, there's still been some cool film costumes and props on display from the horror, drama, thriller and comedy genres.

My latest sighting at the ArcLight Hollywood cinema at the start of october were these original costumes worn by Robert Redford in the new nautical drama, All Is Lost, which from the trailer looks like an intense tale of survival on the high seas.

Speaking of intense movies, Prisoners starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal was such a compelling and engrossing thriller from start to finish. It's hard to say you 'enjoyed' a film about child abduction, but it was so well acted and directed that it is a must-see movie.

What's more, it was a delight to see these outfits worn by the two lead actors and props featured in the movie on display in ArcLight Hollywood's foyer in September, especially when you know the significance of some of the film props.

Also on display at the L.A. based cinema in September were these creepy costumes and surreal mannequin prop from the Insidious horror sequel, just in time to get you in the mood for Halloween.

If you're a fan of the supernatural horror franchise, be sure to head over to my Hollywood Movie Costumes and Props blog to see these Insidious: Chapter 2 movie costumes and props in even more detail.

and Shaun of the Dead

Earlier in August the mood was lightened by this impressive costume and prop display for the affectionately titled 'Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy', the trio of comedies from Edwar Wright and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

This exhibit at ArcLight Hollywood had costumes and props from Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and the newest film, The World's End. The reflective screens made this exhibit almost impossible to photograph clearly, but be sure to click through to check out more of The World's End movie costumes and props on display.

It's always a thrill to see some of the behind-the-scenes secrets around L.A., so I hope there'll be more exhibits to enjoy in the months to come and of course I'll share them for you all here in the future...
