Linkin Park and ZZ Top GuitarTown tributes along L.A.'s Sunset Strip...

Even though this is the third generation of the Sunset Strip's GuitarTown sculptural installation, it's always exciting when the new decorated 10-foot-tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul guitars start appearing along the infamous stretch of Sunset Boulevard.

This new guitar design outside the House of Blues is actually by Linkin Park's own Mike Shinoda, which is appropriate really as all these giant guitars by him and other artists paying tribute to their music idols and legendary rock groups will be auctioned for their Music for Relief charity.

His painted design is based on the band's 'Hybrid Theory' soldier in a moment of reflection and is a cool addition to West Hollywood's creative outdoor art installation.

Next is an homage to ZZ Top by Danny Curnen and there's not a beard in sight in this guitar inspired by the legendary rock and roll band's music. This over-sized Gibson guitar can currently be found outside the Andaz Hotel along Sunset Boulevard.

Be sure to also check out this Star Struck guitar and Jim Marshall tribute guitar which have also graced the same location in the past.

Stay tuned in the days to come for even more new GuitarTown designs gracing the Sunset Strip this fall 2013...
