Cool movie, music and game billboards around L.A. in November 2013...

This month there've been lots of new movie, music albums and video game releases to keep the skies of L.A. filled with cool new billboard campaigns.

Movie billboards
Giant Anchorman 2 movie billboards Downtown LA
To kick us off here's a trio of giant billboards from Downtown L.A. on the side of the Figueroa Hotel for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which sees Will Ferrell reprise his impeccably coiffed 'Ron Burgundy' newsreader persona along with the rest of the Channel Four news team.
Anchorman 2 movie billboard
Be sure to check out the rest of the billboards for Anchorman 2 as the gang move from the 70's on the West Coast to the 24-hour news cycle of the Big Apple in the 80's. Plus if you're a fan of 2004's cult comedy hit, be sure to also check out these original Anchorman 2 movie costumes on display at the ArcLight Hollywood cinema.
Hobbit 2 Desolation of Smaug movie billboard
Speaking of sequels and the second installment in The Hobbit Trilogy is on its way, and as well as a new female and fan-favourite elf, it looks like there are more familiar spiders in store in The Desolation of Smaug for 'Bilbo' and his friends to face.

If you're a Tolkien fan, be sure to check out these other billboards for The Hobbit 2 which have invaded L.A. in abundance and variety this month.
American Hustle film billboard
Meanwhile David O' Russell assembles more than a few familiar faces in his new retro FBI sting movie, American Hustle, which promises to have great hair and costumes to match the late 70's and early 80's setting of the movie.
Best Man Holiday movie billboard
Another sequel, although this one almost 15 years in the making was The Best Man Holiday this month, whose ad creative had a real festive feel to it and you could be forgiven if you thought it was Gap billboard with all those smiles and scarves.
Delivery Man movie billboard
Vince Vaughn finds himself the father to over 500 kids after an accident at a clinic where he donated his sperm in his youth in Delivery Man. It's a shame his billboard was so mediocre, but then again nothing could have helped this comedy opening the same weekend as The Hunger Games sequel.
Thor Dark World movie billboard
Here's another billboard for the Thor sequel, which makes Chris Hemsworth look every inch the God of Thunder. I've been very fortunate to see lots of original costumes and props from Thor: The Dark World on display this month, so be sure to check them out too.
Grudge Match movie billboard
The next billboard is for Grudge Match, which sees Robert De Niro face off against Sylvester Stallone, as if some fanboy had said wouldn't it be great if the boxers from Raging Bull and Rocky could fight each other. And they say originality is dead.
Killing Kennedy TV movie billboard
On the National Geographic Channel this month they were retelling the death of JFK to mark the 50th anniversary of his assassination in the TV movie event, Killing Kennedy.
Giant Frozen movie billboard Sunset Strip
And on a much lighter note, this Thanksgiving Disney's Frozen is coming to warm the hearts of a new generation, with one of the best new Disney animated movies in decades according to early reviews. Of course, it always helps when you have a cute snowman like 'Olaf' to charm the kids and adults alike in this adaptation of The Snow Queen fairytale.

Music and radio billboards
Lady Gaga Artpop billboard
This month there've been a few major records dropping like Lady Gaga's new album, Artpop. I like the Jeff Koons inspired album artwork, but have to say, I only like about three tracks on the entire album.
One Direction Midnight Memories billboard
Meanwhile, whilst the fame monster may be fizzling, the boy band One Direction continues to invade the charts with songs from their new album, Midnight Memories.
We Speak Angeleno KPCC radio billboard
And this month I also like the simplicity, colour choice and clever 'We speak Angeleno' tagline, for KPCC's local talk radio show, Take Two.

Game billboards
Giant Batman: Arkham Origins billboard
With the gift-giving season looming it was no surprise to see so many video game billboards filling the skies of L.A. during November, like this towering billboard creative for Batman: Arkham Origins at Sunset & Vine in Hollywood.
Giant Call of Duty Ghosts video game billboard
Plus the new Call of Duty: Ghosts game added another giant-sized billboard this month along L.A.'s bust Sunset Boulevard.
Assassins Creed IV Black Flag game billboard
And Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag had this cool special extension billboard along the Sunset Strip, plus more creatives for this new pirate themed installment filling the skies of the City of Angels.

Plus if you like these video game billboards, be sure to check out these giant billboards for Grand Theft Auto 5 which preceded these ads earlier this fall.

As you can see there was lots of variety filling the skyline this month, be sure to stick around in the days to come to see the best TV, fashion, drinks and lifestyle billboards also making the streets of Los Angeles a more interesting place...
