Shark attack - he didn't stand a chance...

In honor of Discovery Channel's annual Shark Week, we couldn't resist getting Cooper his very own Jaws to chew on this week.

6 year Labrador Cooper shark toy
This is one of those tough toys made from stronger materials that tend to last a bit longer, although it's been a while since Cooper has shredded any of his soft toy playmates.

Living in Southern California I'm always mindful when I take Cooper to the beach of what may be lurking amongst the waves, but in a twist of fate it looks like the ocean predator has met his match with our 6-year-old Labrador.

It's the first time that he's taken on a shark, being used to the usual doggie fare of bunnies, bears and monkeys.

He's always loved his soft toys and as an 8-week-old pup with his needle-like teeth they never used to last that long and that's why, as you can see, he had so many of them when he was younger (yes, he was a spoiled pup, and still is, but how can you say no to that face and those eyes).

These days rather than tearing his soft toy to pieces, he's more contented to cuddle it and have a little nap. Our boy is growing older.

Let's see if this killer fish can survive Cooper's version of Shark Week...
