Cyndi Lauper GuitarTown tribute along the Sunset Strip...

Another year comes around and brings with it more GuitarTown sculpture sightings from the latest wave of design tributes to famous rock 'n'roll and pop stars.

Cyndi Lauper guitar homage by Lori Antoinette
Cyndi Lauper, the singer whose career has spanned over three decades and is known for such pop anthems as "Girls just wanna have fun", "Time after Time", "I drove all night", "True Colors" and many more besides, is the latest guitar tribute that I've spotted and this one is by artist Lori Antionette.

Cyndi Lauper is still wowing audiences with her music and she recently won a Tony Award for her score for the hit Broadway musical Kinky Boots.

This colourful over-sized Gibson guitar tribute for the singer can currently be seen outside Mel's Drive-In Diner along the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.

If you like this creation, be sure to check out more GuitarTown tributes from recent years that have graced the Sunset Strip, including homages to Blondie, Janis Joplin, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Prince, Stevie Nicks and many more music legends.

Interestingly the other day when out photographing in the neighbourhood I bumped into someone who grew up living near the Sunset Strip and who was influenced by all the music and rock legends it attracted. His fear is that the over-development and large hotel complexes being built will further distill the Strip's music legacy in the years to come.

I'm sure this won't be the last painted guitar I'll come across in 2015, but apparently this was part of the final wave of designs for the public art installation that benefited music-based charities, so enjoy these super-sized guitars whilst you can.
