New film costume exhibits giving a glimpse behind the scenes of Hollywood...

This past few weeks have been great if you're a cinema fan and I've seen fantastic movies like The Danish Girl, Carol, Steve Jobs, Secret in their Eyes, Spectre and Brooklyn. I've also had the good fortune to see several costume exhibits for some these films around L.A., which always helps enhance your viewing experience by giving you a glimpse behind-the-scenes on how the movie you're watching comes together.

On Saturday I saw The Danish Girl, a transgender drama set in 1920's Copenhagen and Paris, which was truly compelling. I read a few reviews and heard friends mention that Alicia Vikander, as the artist wife of a man who slowly identifies as a woman, is marvelous, but what they didn't say is how amazing she is on screen with Eddie Redmayne as her husband becoming the woman 'Lily Elbe'. There's a real beauty, warmth and emotion to the whole story, and it had me in tears by the end.

These original movie costumes from The Danish Girl were on display at the new Santa Monica ArcLight cinema, plus even more costumes designed by Paco Delgado were on display at ArcLight Hollywood, so be sure to click through and check them all out in even more detail.

Another movie I'm keen to see this holiday season is the new drama with Michael Caine, about a retired orchestra conductor and composer asked to perform for a very special occasion.

These Youth movie costumes were snapped on display at ArcLight Sherman Oaks cinema at the end of November.

And this Christmas Jennifer Lawrence will star in her third David O. Russell movie in a row, as the inventor of the self-wringing Miracle Mop, 'Joy Mangano'.

These costumes from the quirky comedy drama, which is set at various stages in her life and career were photographed at both ArcLight Sherman Oaks and ArcLight Hollywood locations.

Be sure check out these original costumes from Joy worn by Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro (as her dad) at my dedicated Hollywood Movie Costumes and Props blog.

I for one am hoping these movie exhibits keep coming as there has been a veritable cornucopia of fabulous costumes on display recently.

Fingers crossed...
