This downed 3D spacecraft, complete with venting gases and shadowy government officials in hazmat gear investigating the crash, is a fantastic way to get people excited about the show which originally ran from 1993 to 2002.

Apparently it's all part of an awareness raising PR stunt taking place at the busy shopping centre this weekend, include advance screenings of some of the new six episodes.

If you like this out-of-home spaceship spectacle, you may also like this 3D crashed UFO billboard for the launch of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty animated series from along L.A.'s Sunset Boulevard at the end of 2013.

Of course, the stars of The X-Files haven't exactly been twiddling their thumbs these past ten years or so since the show ended, so if you're a fan of David Duchovny, be sure to check him out in these Californication and Aquarius TV series billboards.
