Attention-grabbing TV billboards filling the Summer skies in L.A. this July 2016...

Wow, what a week it's been with the hopeful, patriotic and uplifting Democratic Convention and what a stark contrast to the GOP Convention the week before which was filled with hate, bigotry, fear and doom and gloom. You can tell it's U.S. presidential election season when TV billboards start reflecting the mood of the country. Here's a roundup of all the new and returning television series billboards gracing L.A.'s streets and skies this July 2016.

TV billboards
Full Frontal Samantha Bee democracy watching you billboard
First up is this patriotic ad creative from Samantha Bee. Her Full Frontal show may not have received any Emmy nods for her satirical politics and current affairs insights, but this billboard proves that she's still got her finger on the pulse of what's happening this political season.
Jim Jefferies Freedumb comedy special billboard
Meanwhile Aussie comedian Jim Jefferies was taking aim at America's overuse of the word 'freedom' and poking fun at the easily ridiculed Donald Trump in his new Netflix standup comedy special 'Freedumb'.
Giant Mr Robot season 2 billboard
Mr. Robot was back for a second season this month, but I'm not sure how much the paranoid, anti-establishment hacker would like his image super-sized on the side of a bank building.
Giant Power season 3 billboard
Starz drug-dealing drama Power was back for a third season this month and this giant billboard was on fire on the side of the Sofitel Hotel.
Giant The Night Of series premiere billboard
HBO's procedural drama examining the judicial and prison system, The Night Of, was also promoted in a big way this month along the Sunset Strip.
Giant Impractical Jokers billboard
TruTV's Impractical Jokers were getting a massive push on the side of the Andaz Hotel this July for their fifth season of hidden camera pranks.
Giant Ballers season 2 billboard
Dwayne Johnson, without doubt one to the busiest folks in Hollywood, was being super-sized in an ice-bath for the sophomore season of sports dramedy Ballers this month.
Giant All or Nothing series premiere billboard
Plus Amazon was spending big to promote its All or Nothing docu-series following the Arizona Cardinals American Football team.

Also in the world of sport, Survivor's Remorse was back for a third season with this perfect special extension cut-out billboard for Starz basketball-themed drama.
Survivors Remorse season 3 billboard
Over on Netflix Stranger Things were happening in their new original series which paid homage to classic 80s movies from the likes of Steven Spielberg and Stephen King.
Stranger Things series premiere billboard
Even the show's twinkly title logo and illustrated series key art is a nice nod to nostalgia, don't you think?
Marco Polo season 2 billboard
One of the most striking TV billboards this month has to be this fiery horse ad creative for the second season of Marco Polo, so eye-catching.
Fear the Walking Dead midseason 2 billboard
And speaking of sophomore seasons and Fear the Walking Dead was back with this midseason skull billboard, which really picks up on Donald Trumps anti-Mexican rhetoric with its timely 'Death knows no borders' tagline. I have to say I'm struggling with this post-apocalypic zombie drama spin-off, so these returning episodes for the second season have to really deliver for me.
Scream Queens season 2 teaser billboard
Scream Queens is another show coming back for a second season this Fall, but I'm not really sure why. Actually it's because what Ryan Murphy wants, Ryan Murphy gets, I'm sure.
Shooter series premiere billboard
Another movie getting a TV spin-off this season is Shooter with Ryan Phillippe taking over from Mark Wahlberg as the export marksman involved in a conspiracy to kill the U.S. President. Following the tragic sniper-like ambush deaths of police in Dallas and Baton Rogue, this series has now been delayed by the USA Network until later this Fall.
Here's also another of the three different colour ways I spotted for the second season of FX's comedy-drama Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.
Difficult People season 2 billboard
Another series back for a sophomore season was Hulu's comedy Difficult People, starring Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner as two bitter New York comics who don't like anyone but themselves.
Wrecked season 1 billboard
Over on TBS, their new comedy series Wrecked was poking fun at plane crash drama LOST.
Loosely Exactly Nicole series premiere billboard
Whilst Nicole Byer was getting not one, but two billboards opposite each other along the Sunset Strip for her new MTV comedy, Loosely Exactly Nicole.
Million Dollar Matchmaker WE TV billboard
After eight seasons on Bravo, Patti Stanger is moving to a new channel with a slightly re-named show, Million Dollar Matchmaker.
HarmonQuest series premiere billboard
This month Seeso, NBC's video-on-demand service for comedy lovers, brings Dungeons & Dragons animation and live-action role-play to TV in the new series HarmonQuest.
BoJack Horseman season 3 billboard
Plus on Netflix's animated BoJack Horseman is back for a third season of the depressed humanoid horse living in Hollywoodland.
Brad Neely Harg Nallin Sclopio Peepio Adult Swim banana billboard
Meanwhile Brad Neely was bringing more of his unorthodox animated comedy to Adult Swim with Harg Nallin' Sclopio Peepio and this bizarre banana billboard.
Comedy Central Roast Battle billboard
Over on Comedy Central it was a standup showdown with Jeff Ross presenting Roast Battle, where comedians say bad things about each other in jest.
Rap Game series premiere billboard
Known for its TV movies and reality television shows, Lifetime was venturing into strange new territory with its singing competition The Rap Game this month.
Sing It YouTube Red billboard
And speaking of show's like American Idol and The Voice, YouTube Red's original comedy series Sing It! was spoofing all those reality competition shows.
People v OJ Simpson Emmy nominee billboard
And now that the Emmy nominations have been announced, billboards are starting to appear to garner votes.
Fargo season 2 Emmy nominations billboard
And just like with Emmy consideration season, FX seems to be first in the skies with support for its shows like The People v. O.J. Simpson and the acclaimed second season of Fargo, and you have to love this snowman head ad creative, so fun.

As the evidence shows, even though many series are off the air for the Summer season the skies have still been crowded with new and returning TV show billboards. Take a look at the TV show billboards filling the Summer skies last July and come back next month for another exciting outdoor ad roundup.

As always, watch this space...
