Super new movie and TV costumes on display around the streets, cinemas and museums of L.A...

This month there's been a real eclectic mix of movie and TV costumes to be spotted in L.A., not only in museums and cinemas, but on the streets of West Hollywood too. Here's a selection of the fabulous costume exhibits that have caught my magpie eye in recent weeks.

Emmy-nominated gowns from RuPaul's Drag Race
on display at LASC in West Hollywood
RuPaul's Drag Race Emmy-nominated costumes
I'm a huge fan of RuPaul's Drag Race, in fact RuPaul won his first Emmy last night for Outstanding Reality Host of the show.

At the same time this month these fantastic gowns and outfits worn by the Glamazon and designed by Zaldy Goco were on display in the windows of the LASC men's clothing store along Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood to help showcase the Emmy-nominated costumes.

This glamorous window installation was created by the same guys who create the rooftop display in West Hollywood that I regularly feature here on my blog, so be sure to click through and take a look at their past provocative  work.

Meanwhile over at ArcLight Sherman Oaks cinema today I spied this cool costume exhibit for Tim Burton's new movie Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which were designed by three time Oscar-winning designer Colleen Atwood.

Suicide Squad movie costume exhibit
at ArcLight Hollywood
Suicide Squad movie costumes
Back in the middle of August when I finally got the chance to check out DC Comics new anti-hero movie, Suicide Squad, these three costumes were on display at ArcLight Hollywood.

If you're looking for some fun Halloween costume inspiration, make sure you check out these Deadshot, Harley Quinn and Joker movie costumes on display in more detail.

10th annual Art of TV Costume Design
at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum
Emmy-winning Game of Thrones season 6 costumes
And finally, I'm still also sifting through all the fab costume photos I took at this year's TV costume design exhibit at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising's Museum in Downtown L.A., like these Emmy-winning Game of Thrones outfits for Outstanding Period or Fantasy Costumes.

If you like these outlandish fantasy looks, be sure to check out more cool TV costumes on display at the free exhibition which runs until October 15, 2016.

Some days I have to pinch myself when I get to see all these amazing costumes on display, so let's hope the costume and prop exhibits will continue to dazzle me in the coming weeks…

My sister and I are obsessed with film and television costumes and plan to visit FIDM, when we visit from Canada in October. We will defiantly check out ArcLight Sherman Oaks cinema and LASC. Thanks for the info, its been hard to find exhibits and museums that have displays. -Meg

Most of these exhibits are temporary, so I'd recommend you double check they are still there before you visit, although there are always new exhibits to be seen too!
