Original film costumes and props on display around L.A. in Fall 2016...

As we get closer to awards season I'm expecting to see a lot more costume and props displays to pop up in L.A., meanwhile here's a glimpse at some of the movie exhibits at ArcLight Hollywood cinema throughout October and at the start of November.

Allied movie costume exhibit at ArcLight Hollywood

First up is this cool display of Allied film costumes from Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard's new World War II romantic thriller designed by Joanna Johnston.

Next are some costumes worn by Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton from the very timely biopic Loving, designed by Erin Benach.

In the light of the U.S. Election result and all the white supremacists being elected into Trump's cabinet, this film about interracial marriage set in Virginia in the late 50s and 60s seems even more poignant and relevant today.

Meanwhile Philip Roth's 1997 novel American Pastoral has been adapted for the big screen with Ewan McGregor starring and making his directorial debut. This original costume exhibit featured outfits worn by him and Dakota Fanning, designed by Lindsay McKay.

Oil rig production model from Deepwater Horizon
on display at ArcLight Hollywood

At the beginning of October, this scale model of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig was on display in the cinema's foyer.

As you can see there's been a nice smattering of interesting film wardrobes and props to be enjoyed these past few weeks, let's hope more exhibits continue to appear this holiday season...
