Magical new costume, prop and model display in L.A. this Holiday season...

At this time of year the cinemas in L.A. seem to be filled to overflowing with costume and prop exhibits, as studios try to capitalise on the extra holiday season footfall and hope to raise the profile of films that may be in the running during awards season. Obviously I'm not complaining as I love seeing all the displays.

First up are costumes worn by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in the ambitious and utterly charming new musical La La Land designed by Mary Zophres.

This was one of the two films I enjoyed over my birthday weekend (the other being Rogue One), and I loved it so much I'm listening (and singing along) to the movie soundtrack as I type.

Next is a replica of the iconic pink outfit that Jackie Kennedy was wearing when her husband, U.S. President JFK, was assassinated. Be sure to click through for a closer look at Natalie Portman's Jackie movie costume designed by Madeline Fontaine, which I can't wait to see in action on the big screen this holiday season.

Towards the end of November ArcLight Hollywood also played host to these five fantastic original costumes from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which were designed by Colleen Atwood for the Harry Potter prequel spin-off.

ArcLight Hollywood also currently has this cool collection of movie models from A Monster Calls on display, which are the head and limbs of the tree-like creature in the film.

And finally it's so full upstairs in the Hollywood cinema's foyer with other costume, prop and model exhibits, that you'll actually find this costume display from Ben Affleck's new Prohibition Era mob boss movie, Live by Night (designed by Jacqueline West), downstairs.

I know there are many more exhibits around L.A., I do plan to go to the El Capitan Theatre to watch Rogue One: A Star Wars Story again and see the costumes on display there, it's just finding the time to visit them all when there's so much going on pre-Christmas.

Let's hope this trend continues into 2017

UPDATED: If you can believe the costumes and props keep on coming this month and I've just spied these fabulous exhibits for Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast movie.

Let's see if any more movie exhibits pop up before the end of the year...
