Halloween Spider-man is back and ready for action...

He's back!

Tonight I'll be donning my red and blue Spidey costume and taking to the streets of West Hollywood to hopefully capture some fantastic photos along Santa Monica Boulevard, just like Spider-man's alter-ego, Peter Parker.

Halloween fun runs and more spooky Jack O'Lanterns...

This morning I was up early and out the door in my modified Robin, Boy Wonder costume from last Halloween, for a five mile fancy dress fun run in Griffith Park with my T2: Team To End AIDS training mates.

It was wet and cold at 7am, but the sun soon came out as we set off on our training run for the L.A. Marathon. Remember you can donate money to my fundraising efforts for AIDS Project Los Angeles.

Tomorrow night it'll be full costume mode for West Hollywood's Halloween Carnaval.
Spooky Halloween Pumpkins

In the meantime here's my other carved pumpkin to help you get in the spooky holiday spirit.

Carved pumpkins and more Halloween horrors...

Happy Halloween folks.
Halloween pumpkin lantern 2010
It's that time of year to get creative and carve a pumpkin or two to get in the holiday spirit and transform your home with some spooktacular decorations.WEHO rooftop spooky Halloween pumkpin
Last night I spent the evening carving this little beauty to get in the Halloween mood and then popped up to our roof-deck to take a few photos overlooking our local West Hollywood neighbourhood.

In addition to my alien-themed Jack O'Lantern, I thought I'd also share some more horrifying Halloween sights to inspire you from Universal Studios Hollywood and Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Next on my list of things to do today is to carve a second pumpkin, so I shall be scooping, scraping and creating for the next few hours I'm sure.

Yesterday I had a scare when I discovered my Spider-man costume gloves were not only too big, but also too orange for the rest of my red and blue outfit. One speedy trip to the costume shop and some children's size gloves later and I think I'm all ready to go for Sunday.

I also have to cobble together a makeshift costume for my marathon training tomorrow at 7am in Griffith Park. I'm thinking lightweight and comfortable for a five mile 'fun run'.

Happy hauntings...

Running the inaugural Rock 'n' Roll L.A. Half Marathon...

If anyone had any doubt that running the Rock 'n' Roll L.A. Half Marathon was easy, then all you need do is take a look at my official race photos from Sunday.

Sprint for the Finish Line
Rock 'n' Roll LA Half Marathon sprint finish
You just have to see the look on my face to know that those 13.1 miles were hard and there's utter relief as I charge over the Finish Line in Downtown L.A.

Crossing the Finish Line

I must remember to look for those cameras as I cross the Finish Line, but as you can imagine I had other things on my mind, like not collapsing in a heap or crashing into a fellow runner.
Rock 'n' Roll LA Half Marathon FinishJason crosses Rock 'n' Roll LA Half Marathon finish
Actually one of my criticisms of the race at the weekend was the absence of photographers throughout the course, they only seemed to be present at the end, whilst in previous races like the 12k Bay to Breakers in San Francisco and Disneyland Half Marathon, you were able to select images from different locations along the race route.
Running Rock 'n' Roll LA Half Marathon
Anyway, I paid the extortionate fees for my digital photos, so I thought I'd make the most of them, aside form the memories they'll provide in years to come.

As you can see I ran in my less-than-form-fitting T2: Team To End AIDS t-shirt to help raise awareness for my chosen charity at next year's L.A. Marathon, so if you'd like to support my running the 26.2 miles for AIDS Project Los Angeles, please donate today...

October's coolest fashion and lifestyle billboards around L.A...

There have really been some attention grabbing billboards around L.A. this month and here are the best of the fashion and lifestyle creatives standing out in October.

Alcohol Billboards
Skyy Vodka Kinky Boots billboard
I'm loving this kinky boots billboard from Skyy Vodka this month. Their creatives continue to be vibrant, simple and bold. Check out the previous Skyy Vodka billboards.
Maker's Mark straws billboard
Maker's Mark is also another brand that doesn't disappoint with its billboards. This irreverent giant straws billboard on the side of the 9000 Sunset Boulevard building is great fun, as is their 'Available for adoption' creative.

Finally for the drinks billboards is the brooding Tony Ward for Deleon Tequila along the Sunset Strip, doing his best Clint Eastwood tough guy impression

Fashion and Beauty Billboards
Gucci Guilty fragrance billboard
This month Gucci really had an eye-catching billboard for its new fragrance Guilty, with True Blood's Evan Rachel Wood and super-hottie Chris Evans steaming up Sunset Boulevard.
Christiano Ronaldo Megan Fox Armani underwear billboard
Not to be outdone, Emporio Armani rolled out their big guns, the perfect bodies of Cristiano Ronaldo and Megan Fox for their sexy underwear line.
Armani Exchange speed style billboard
Further up the Strip they kept their models young and beautiful for their Armani Exchange Speed Style billboard.
John Varvartos fashion billboard
Meanwhile the fashion brand, John Varvatos, celebrated ten years with this billboard homage to The Beatles iconic Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover.

Halloween Billboards
Elvira Out of the Closet Halloween billboard
Finally, to help get us all in the Halloween mood, here are some suitably spooky billboards. First up is Elvira, Mistress of Darkness, encouraging everyone to find their costumes at Out of the Closet thrift stores to help a worthy cause - AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
Disney Halloween witch billboardCruella De Vil billboard
Next are a trio of fun billboards for Disneyland's Halloween Time, featuring some of Disney's most dastardly villains - the disguised Queen from Snow White, Cruella De Vil and Captain Hook.

Be sure to check out even more great billboards every day at Daily Billboard and come back soon for more Halloween hijinks here at Jason in Hollywood...

October's TV and movie billboard round-up around L.A...

Another month goes by and another eclectic collection of TV and movie billboards fill L.A.'s skyline. Here are some of the best and brightest that caught my eye in October.

Movie Billboards
Megamind 3D billboardIs it a bird, is it a plane, no it's a big-skulled blue alien with a villain complex. This month the skies seem to be filled with billboards for the new DreamWorks animated movie, Megamind.Megamind movie billboard
With their super-bright colour scheme and fun, quirky characters, you can't help but spot these billboards as you drive about town.
Megamind film billboard
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the other billboards dominating the city skyline has been this selection of stunt billboards for Jackass 3D.
Jackass 3D jet engine movie billboard
From charging bulls to being blasted by jet engines, you have to admit these billboards may not be subtle but they are attention grabbers.

There was also this fantastic crashed jet ski installation along the Sunset Strip which was real eye-catcher and PR generator and help reinforce the 3D aspect of the movie.

If you were looking for a tamer, romantic comedy, there was Life As We Know It, with Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel, with a fun billboard creative from the baby's point of view.
Life As We Know It billboard
Matt Damon's new movie, Hereafter, looked like something out of the 80's, but it does seem to be everywhere you look at the moment.
Hereafter film billboard
Secretariat was a great feel-good film and the quintessential Disney movie, and I thought this simple and bold creative instantly conveyed the story premise about the thoroughbred horse racing champion.
Disney Secretariat movie billboardBurlesque film billboard
Cher and Christina Aguilera made their mark on Sunset Boulevard with this bold billboard for their new musical movie, Burlesque.
Skyline spaceship film billboard
And finally for movies, I totally geeked out when I saw this spaceship billboard for new sci-fi film, Skyline. It just looks so cool and I hope the movie doesn't disappoint.

TV Billboards
The Walking Dead TV billboard
Now that the new TV season is in full swing (with cancellations announced already), television billboards are less abundant this month, but there are still some gems like this post-apocalypic creative for The Walking Dead TV show. I love how they've managed to produce a truly creepy billboard without resorting to hordes of flesh-eating zombies.
IRT Deadliest Roads billboard
Next, you can believe that these are the Ice Road Truckers Deadliest Roads with this death defying imagery.
Idris Elba Luther TV billboard
Idris Elba really catches your eye as 'Luther', looking down along the Sunset Strip, in this billboard for the new BBC America crime thriller.
Hub Come Together TV channel billboard
Whilst if you're looking for something fluffier, there's a new kids channel crammed with favourites like Fraggle Rock, Transformers, Batman Beyond and even My Little Pony. Who can resist that combination?
A-List TV billboard
And finally for TV, if you thought there weren't enough reality shows out there already, get ready for the Desperate House-Husbands of New York City.

Come back soon for more cool billboards from the world of fashion, theme parks and alcohol...
