Eye-catching drinks and lifestyle billboards around L.A. in April 2014...

You've seen the movie, music, TV and fashion billboards gracing L.A.'s skyline in April 2014, no it's time to take a look at the visions in vinyl for drinks, food, technology, travel and tourism brands.

Drinks billboards
Pepsi Say hello to my little friend billboard
This month Pepsi was serving up its new mini-can on a plate. You know what they say about good things coming in small packages, well apparently this little can gives epic satisfaction.
Naked Juice 1lb of fruit every bottle billboard
Following on from Naked Juice's recent locally themed ad campaign, they've gone back to basics with this follow-up billboard, simply stating what ingredients are in their product.
Bushmills Irish Whiskey Aaron Paul billboard
From soft drinks to alcoholic offerings and Aaron Paul and his friends were the face of Bushmills Irish Whiskey this month along the Sunset Strip.
Giant Tequila Herradura Never Compromise billboard
With Cinco de Mayo celebrations on the way, Tequila Herradura was back in a big way on the side of the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood to remind everyone which tipple to drink on the 5th.
Smirnoff Vodka Exclusively for everybody billboard
After a backlash against Russian vodka (even those brands in other hands now, but with Russian origins) after their anti-gay actions in recent times against their own population, Smirnoff seems to be keen to let everyone know their vodka is 'exclusively for everybody'.
Ciroc Vodka Perfect shot NBA billboard
Another vodka brand back in the skies of L.A. this month was Cîroc, proclaiming it was the perfect shot (pun intended) as the official toast of the NBA.
Coors Light Refreshment delivered billboard
As the temperature heats up in L.A., Coors Light was on hand to deliver some liquid refreshment, whether you're climbing mountains or simply lounging by the pool.
Dos Equis charisma billboard
Meanwhile the 'Most interesting man in the world' was back this month with a whole slew of witty ads, so be sure to check out these other Dos Equis beer billboards too.

Food billboards
Little Debbie Cloud Cakes Unwrap a smile billboard
And if all those beers and cocktails give you a case of the munchies, maybe some old-fashioned Little Debbie Cloud Cakes can satisfy your sugar cravings.
Burger Lounge Ad version Real version billboard
And if cakes and confectionary doesn't do it for you, maybe a nice juicy burger will do the trick. I love this simple, but effective 'ad' vs. 'real' ad creative from Burger Lounge, let's hope the reality actually lives up to the promise.

Health and fitness billboards
Cesar Chavez AIDS Healthcare Foundation billboard
In the same way AIDS Healthcare Foundation used Martin Luther King, Jr. in their recent billboard to highlight that AIDS is a civil rights issue, following on from Cesar Chavez Day on March 31, they are using the Latino civil rights activist to do the same thing to speak to the Hispanic community.
Putting the health in healthcare AIDS Foundation billboard
Plus AHF also have this chin-up creative to reinforce their health message this month.
Equinox Made me do it billboard
And speaking of fitness, upscale gym Equinox continues to take the blame for its members getting into all kinds of trouble, like hiding out in car trunks. Oh, how we laughed.

Technology billboards
Giant HTC One ask the internet billboard
This month the battle of the smartphones continues in the skies of L.A., with this giant billboard for the new HTC One Android phone on the side of the Andaz Hotel.
Giant Samsung S5 and Gear 2 billboard
Whilst Samsung continues to push its S5 smartphone and Gear 2 watch, which it wants you to believe is the next big thing.
Make every day Earth Day Nest billboard
The Sunset Strip continues to change this month after months of demolition of old buildings to make way for new hotel and residential developments, this bold new billboard site for Ace Outdoor Advertising appeared to replace the recent ad sites lost.
New Ace outdoor advertising billboard Sunset Strip
The massive architecturally-designed fluid blue billboard hoarding (by Lorcan O' Herlihy Architects) has two ads, both for Nest and their thermostat and smoke alarm product at the moment, being very environmentally-friendly with their Earth Day message.
Nest Make every day Earth Day billboard
The double billboard also utilizes LED lighting technology which is energy saving, using 85% less than standard billboard lighting.

Car billboards
Audi A3 Hugs corners cuts none billboard
In the world of cars, after teasing us for months the new sleek, corner hugging Audi A3 was finally unveiled.
Mini Burns rubber reads email billboard
And the Mini launched a new ad campaign this month highlighting the benefits of the little motor, so you can read your email whilst zipping around town (although I'm not sure how safe that is, especially when L.A.'s drivers are already crazy, they don't need any further distractions).

Travel and tourism billboards
Delta Airlines on location billboard
Delta was advertising in the heart of Hollywood this month to encourage studios to fly with their airline to their filming locations.
Drai's rooftop beach club Las Vegas billboard
Las Vegas nightclub venue Drai's was advertising its new rooftop beach club with this cheeky billboard along the Strip.
Getty Villa Bronzed gods Chiseled Abs billboard
And finally, this witty billboard for The Getty Villa made me smile this month with its parody of L.A.'s narcissism and obsession with the perfect body and poolside lifestyle.

As you can see it's been a crowded city skyline in April and I hope you've enjoyed all these billboard round-ups in recent days as much as I have.

I look forward to seeing what visual delights May has to offer...

Attention-grabbing TV billboards filling the skies of L.A. in April 2014...

The new season television billboards certainly kept me busy this month, whether it be photographing debuting new series or ads for returning favourites, there were plenty of eye-catching billboards to keep passersby entertained. Here's the pick of the best billboards from the genres of comedy, animation, historical drama, fantasy, science fiction, news, current affairs and more besides.

TV billboards
Deadbeat series premiere billboard
First up is one of my favourites adverts of the month for Hulu's new ghost comedy series, Deadbeat. The simple, fun design and pop of vibrant egg yolk yellow really helps this billboard stand out from the crowd.
Fargo TV remake series premiere billboard
Another fun design gracing the skies this month was this needlepoint murder scene for the TV adaptation of the Coen Brothers 1996 movie Fargo on FX, which features new characters and storylines, but in the same vein as the big screen original's humour and style.
Louie season 4 billboard
Meanwhile comedian Louis C. K. is back for a fourth season of Louie with this arresting billboard, which either depicts him plummeting to his death or falling in love (with red rose in mouth and heart-shaped skywriting maybe suggesting the latter).
Salem series premiere billboard
Stepping back in time and WGN America's first original drama series focuses of the infamous Salem witch trials of 1692 and has this eerie and bewitching ad creative to promote the show's debut.
Turn series premiere billboard
Another new series set in the past, this time during the U.S. Revolutionary War stars Jamie Bell taking part in America's first spy ring to overthrow the British.
Penny Dreadful series premiere billboard
More fantastical delights from the past come from Showtime's Penny Dreadful set in Victorian London, starring Eva Green and Josh Hartnett and pitting them against some of horror's most infamous characters, like Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and threats from the world of Dracula.
Orphan Black season 2 billboard
One of my favourite sci-fi shows returned for a second season this month, as the critically-acclaimed Tatiana Maslany reprised her many roles as the clones of BBC America's Orphan Black. If you're also a fan of the show, be sure to compare this ad to the season one Orphan Black billboard.
Devious Maids season 2 billboard
And those Devious Maids of Beverly Hills returned for a sophomore season over on Lifetime, with secrets and sins aplenty to fill another 13 episodes.
Inside Amy Schumer season 2 billboard
Speaking of second seasons and passersby were seeing double along the Sunset Strip when they spied this 'Hot Mess' billboard for the return of Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer.
Obsessed Jim Gaffigan Comedy Central billboard
Plus Jim Gaffigan received this ad creative for his new stand-up special, Obsessed, in the same location.
Parks and Recreation Emmy Consideration billboard 2014
NBC started their campaigning early for the Emmys this year with this Amy Poehler billboard for Parks and Recreation along Sunset Boulevard.
Boondocks final season 4 billboard
And on Adult Swim The Boondocks animated series returned for a fourth and final season after a long absence.
TripTank series premiere billboard
Meanwhile this month Comedy Central tried out a new animated comedy sketch show with lots of different animation styles and characters called TripTank.
Last Week Tonight John Oliver series premiere billboard
After a successful guest-hosting stint on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, John Oliver got his own news and current affairs review show on HBO, plus this giant-sized irreverent billboard for Last Week Tonight too.
Sam Champion AM HQ launch billboard
Speaking of news and super-sized billboards, and Sam Champion and the AM HQ crew received these billboards along Sunset Boulevard this month to promote their new morning show on The Weather Channel.
Giant Sam Champion AM HQ launch billboard Sunset Strip
And with weather in mind, Showtime debuted their new Years of Living Dangerously documentary series which highlights the perils of climate change on the world we live in today.
Years of Living Dangerously series premiere billboard
With Memorial Day looming, the History channel has a new three-night mini-series event to mark the occasion about President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the 30-year span of World War I and WWII.
The World Wars History billboard
And finally, here's an example of an outdoor business-to-business ad campaign which you don't really see a lot of for the Syfy channel. Be sure to check out more of these fun Syfy Igniters billboards from this and previous years, which promote the cable channel's social media adept audience to prospective sponsors and advertisers.
Syfy Igniters Tweeting about sale billboard
As you can see it's been a jam-packed city skyline this month.

Be sure to also check out these round-ups of April's movie billboards and fashion billboards, plus come back tomorrow for a taste of the drinks and other lifestyle ad creatives trying to grab your attention in the skies of L.A. these past weeks.

Stylish fashion billboards in the skies of L.A. in April 2014...

Not only were the skies of L.A. filled with movie and music billboards in April, but they were also crammed with stylish fashion billboards offering new season looks from high end labels and high street retailers.

Fashion billboards
Tommy Hilfiger Zooey Deschanel billboard
First up is a billboard for a new capsule collection from the doe-eyed New Girl actress Zooey Descahanel for Tommy Hilfiger, using the designer's signature red, white and blue colour palette.

Next is another fashion billboard featuring a celebrity, this time wild child Miley Cyrus looking moody for designer label Marc Jacobs.
Kate Moss Stuart Weitzman Spring 2014 billboard
British Supermodel Kate Moss continues her association with designer shoe brand Stuart Weitzman in this new Spring ad campaign by the infamous photographer, Mario Testino.

And speaking of footwear, although decidedly more affordable, Aldo Shoes continued to brighten L.A.'s skies this month with its Give me Aldo billboard campaign.

Mario Testino is also behind Burberry's latest Spring ad campaign, featuring a whole wealth of bright young things rocking the British brand's infamous trench and new season looks.
Burberry Spring 2014 dresses billboard
The new campaign features movie actor Jamie Campbell Bower and musician Leo Dobson of the band Childhood, alongside a whole smattering of beauties.
Lacoste Life ia a beautiful sport male model billboard
Lacoste's 'The Big Leap' TV commercial is pretty dramatic and daring, and it's nice to see that feeling carried over into their outdoor ad campaign too.
Lacoste Life ia a beautiful sport female model billboard
These fashion ads are certainly made more eye-catching by their unconventional city heights settings and they live up to their 'life is a beautiful sport' slogan.
Calvin Klein Jeans Spring 2014 billboard
Another surprising ad this month, mainly for its lack of flesh, is the new billboard for Calvin Klein Jeans. This dreamy black and white ad creative is much more restrained than the designer's usual fare of buff bodies and barely concealed breasts.
Joe's Jeans Just a perfect day Spring 2014 billboard
Joe's Jeans continued their whimsical 'just a perfect day' campaign this month with this fun ad with a woman with her dress tucked into her knickers. It's always nice to see when a brand doesn't take itself too seriously and if you like this ad, be sure to also check out this Joe's Jeans wedding dress billboard.
DL instasculpt denim Spring 2014 billboard
The DL 1961 Premium Denim brand continues to push its Instasculpt jeans offering this month with the beach shoreline creative.
Tom Ford Spring 2014 billboard
And Tom Ford brought some vibrant colour to the skies above Sunset Plaza with this male version of their crowd-diving campaign. If you're intrigued, be sure to take a look at the female model version of this Tom Ford billboard ad.
Prada Eyewear Spring 2014 billboard
With Summer almost here and the sun shining in L.A. at least, it was the battle of the sunglasses billboards along Sunset Boulevard this month, with the sophisticated Prada Eyewear facing off against the nearby striking Gucci ad creative.
Gucci Eyewear Spring 2014 billboard
Which style will get your hard earned dollars this year? Personally I can't wear big frames as they make me look ridiculous, but in L.A. it's all about getting noticed, so the bigger and more colourful the better for some people.
Wildfox Take me to Paradise Spring 2014 billboard
Meanwhile Wildfox was bringing out their inner flower child just in time for the annual Coachella Music Festival.
Loft Spring 2014 fashion billboard
And Loft continued to show off their new season looks along the Sunset Strip.
Me Undies bathroom ankles billboard
One thing I think is always a bit polarising when it comes to advertising is toilet humour, like this underwear around ankles ad creative for It's witty and a different take on sexy underwear advertising, but it's not everyone's taste.
Rounderbum World Cup edition billboard
For more familiar underwear advertising you only have to look to the skies of West Hollywood this month, where you'll find this bronzed adonis modeling the 'World Cup edition' Rounderbum underwear.
2(X)ist men underwear Spring 2014 billboard
Also enjoying the sun in the skies of WEHO is this male model for 2(X)ist's new underwear and swimwear looks, just in time for pool party season. I'd better stop eating all those peanut M&M's.
2(X)ist male swimwear Spring 2014 billboard
If you like these titillating billboards, be sure to also enjoy these other cheeky billboards spotted in the skies of Los Angeles in recent months.

As you can see there've been lots of fashion brand shopping to get your attention this month, be sure to also check out this movie and music billboard round-up and stay tuned in the days to come for April's TV, drinks and lifestyle ads cramming the city skyline.

Keep your eyes to the skies...
