May's movie and music billboards in the skies of L.A...

This month there have been lots of movie and music billboards filling L.A.'s skyline and the only real challenge has been capturing them in clear skies, as the past few weeks have certainly lived up to the seasonal reputation of 'May grey'.

Movie billboards
Mad Max Fury Road Madness billboard
One of the most explosive movie ad campaigns standing out in L.A.'s streets was Mad Max: Fury Road, bringing nonstop action in a barren post apocalyptic wasteland.

If you like these outdoor ads, be sure to also check out even more Mad Max: Fury Road movie billboards.
San Andreas movie billboard
Speaking of apocalyptic futures and Dwayne Johnson was back in the skies for the earthquake action movie, San Andreas. Let's hope this one never comes true.
Tomorrowland movie billboard
Thinking of better futures, and Disney was bringing a movie based on its Tomorrowland theme park to the big screen with George Clooney in the starring role. Be sure to also check out this giant-sized Tomorrowland movie billboard along the Sunset Strip.
Poltergeist movie remake billboard
Meanwhile Poltergeist was the latest 80's cult classic to be getting a Hollywood remake and this creepy clown creative certainly stands out for the supernatural horror.
Pitch Perfect 2 movie billboard
On a funner note and those 'pitches' were back in Pitch Perfect 2. The sequel is silly, but I haven't laughed so much in ages and it's the perfect feel-good movie for this gloomy time of year in Los Angeles.
Spy movie billboard
Melissa McCarthy was also bringing the hilarity to the city skies this month with these fun Spy movie billboards. This ad creative reminds me of James Bond's Skyfall movie billboards from 2012 and if you like this, be sure to check out the other Goldfinger spoof billboard.
Aloha movie billboards
After visiting Hawaii earlier this year, the romantic comedy Aloha holds some appeal, but these billboards for the film are not the best designed.
Nightingale HBO film billboard
Meanwhile, not so funny is David Oyelowo's new film project, Nightingale, about a lonely war veteran unravelling at the prospect of a visit from an old friend.

Be sure to also check out these Selma movie billboards, in which he portrayed iconic Civil Rights activist, Martin Luther King, Jr.
Entourage movie billboard
This June Entourage is graduating from the small screen after eight seasons for their first cinematic outing, as 'Vince' and the boys are dreaming and living larger in Hollywoodland.
The Gambler Bluray billboard
And speaking of other high rollers and the Blu-ray release of Mark Wahlberg's remake of The Gambler was being advertising this month.
Giant Bessie HBO film billboard
Plus in the world of movie biopics and Queen Latifah was super-sized as 1920's blues singer Bessie Smith this month.

Music billboards
Train Picasso at the wheel tour billboard
The skies of L.A. were also graced with several music billboards this month, like this example for Californian rock band Train and their 'Picasso at the wheel' tour.
Jason Derulo Everything is 4 album billboard
Meanwhile Jason Derulo was promoting his forthcoming fourth studio album, 'Everything is 4', along the Sunset Strip.
Josh Groban Stages album billboard
Operatic pop singer Josh Groban was lending his vocals to a new musical inspired album, 'Stages'.
Florence Machine How big blue beautiful album billboard
And this wall mural was heralding Florence and the Machine's new and third studio album, 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful'.
Kurt Cobain Montage of Heck billboard
Plus HBO was promoting its intimate rock documentary about Nirvana's tragic lead singer, 'Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck'.

As you can see there's been lots of variety to dispel the gloom this month, so stay tuned in the coming days for even more snapshots of the fashion, lifestyle and TV billboards crowding L.A.'s sprawling skyline...
