September 2016's movie, music and gaming billboards around L.A...

After all the Summer blockbusters there's always a bit of a lull in the city skyline for film billboards, but that being said, here's a collection of movies trying to grab passerby attention this September 2016, plus a few music and games billboards also filling L.A.'s crowded skyline this past month.

Movie billboards
Wonder Woman movie teaser billboard
I don't do it every day like some people in the entertainment industry, but I always love driving past Warner Bros. Studios to get a glimpse of their upcoming movies, like the first solo outing for 'Wonder Woman' (a childhood favourite heroine of mine).

She was the most exciting thing in Batman v. Superman, so I'm looking forward to the film and am sure Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman movie costume will serve as inspiration for many this Halloween.
Harry Potter movies billboard
After reading the book for new Harry Potter and the The Cursed Child play recently, which I loved by the way, it encouraged us to rematch all the Harry Potter movies, so this billboard is very timely. They really were a great cinematic experience and certainly got better as the story progressed and the kids grew up.
Fantastic Beasts movie teaser billboard
That's why I'm so looking forward to the new Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them prequels starring Eddie Redmayne as 'Newt Scamander'. J.K. Rowling has really created a rich wizarding universe (as well as being a true LGBT ally on Twitter especially) and I can't wait to dive in to a new adventure on the big screen.
Magnificent Seven movie billboard
Meanwhile this month The Magnificent Seven movie remake was proving that there was still life in the Western genre, especially when you have stars like Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt headlining.
Deepwater Horizon movie billboard
This month was also offering up some movies based on real-life disasters, like the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon offshore drilling oil rig.
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children movie billboard
Although if you were looking for were looking for something a little bit more fantastical, Tim Burton was delivering Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, with Eva Green as the titular magical headmistress.
Storks film billboard
Meanwhile the new computer-animated comedy Storks was also taking flight in the skies of L.A. this September.
Masterminds movie billboard
And speaking of comedies, Masterminds was delivering a new crime caper with a whole host of familiar names, like Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson and Kristen Wiig, this month.
Girl on the Train film billboard
One film I'm looking forward to is The Girl on the Train, with Emily Blunt. It looks like it could be the next Gone Girl, and as I haven't read the book and I love her as an actress this looks like a great night out.
Jack Reacher Never Go Back movie billboard
Tom Cruise may have been renegotiating his fee for the next Mission: Impossible this month, but that didn't stop the Hollywood star from appearing in the skies for another action franchise, the movie sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.
The Accountant movie billboard
And even though Ben Affleck is busy as 'Batman' these days, that didn't stop him from starring as The Accountant, which sounds rather boring without a bit of action involved (hence the gun in the advertising no doubt). Although what's next, 'The CPA', 'The Debt Collector', 'The Therapist'?!?
Amanda Knox Netflix documentary billboard
Netflix really has become a destination for documentary films, and this Amanda Knox example is another fine example and maybe it'll help you decide if she did murder British student Meredith Kercher in Italy in 2007, or not.
Audrie Daisy Netflix documentary billboard
Meanwhile Audrie & Daisy is a documentary about two teenage girls who were raped at a party when they passed out drunk (which seems to be a growing problem, or maybe it's sadly always happened and these days it's acknowledged), the public shaming and online harassment from speaking out led to suicide and the death of one of the girls.
Extremis Netflix documentary short billboard
And finally in the world of film, this billboard is not for the 'Extremis' tech weapon from Iron Man 3, but for a new Netflix documentary short about end-of-life care.

Music billboards
Travis Scott Birds in the trap sing McKnight billboard
Meanwhile this fun billboard was snapped along the Sunset Strip for the second studio album by hip-hop artist Travis Scott this month.
Beatles 8 days a week Hulu documentary billboard
Plus The Beatles were making their legendary presence felt along the Sunset Strip for their new Hulu documentary by Ron Howard, Eight Days A Week: The Touring Years.
Spotify I need you to set me free Shawn Mendes billboard
And Spotify was back amongst the city skyline and promoting artists like Shawn Mendes to get you listening to the streaming service.

Gaming billboards
Giant Summoners War 2016 game billboard
Meanwhile in Koreatown this month Summoners War was making a big impression with all its fantastical characters for the online game.

As you can see it's not been as busy for movies and music this month, but we're sure that will change in coming weeks. Come back next month for another roundup and be sure to check out what movie and music billboards were hot in the skies this time last year.

Plus stay tuned for this year's returning TV show billboards filling L.A.'s sprawling skyline this September...
