Attention-grabbing TV billboards filling L.A.'s crowded April 2017 skies...

Of all the billboard roundups I do at the end of each month, from fashion to music, movies to lifestyle brands, the TV genre is certainly becoming the most challenging category to keep up-to-speed on. Here's a smorgasbord of television show billboards filling L.A.'s April streets and skies, from comedies to reality competitions, drama to documentaries, awards shows to political satire, animation to TV revivals, and much more besides.

Samantha Bee Not White House dinner billboard
First up is this bold, red giant-sized billboard for Samantha Bee's wickedly funny Full Frontal series, inviting passersby along the Sunset Strip to her special Not the White House Correspondents' Dinner special. 
President Show series premiere billboard
And someone else not attending the official press dinner this year and Comedy Central is poking fun at the Idiot-in-Chief, Donald Trump, with this billboard for late night's new satire, The President Show, which stars Anthony Atamanuik as Putin's Puppet. I'm loving the Russian nesting dolls in the background of the Oval Office.
LA Burning Riots 25 years later billboard
Kadir Nelson's mural 'Once Upon A Time In The City of Angels' is the evocative imagery used for A&E's special, L.A. Burning, commemorating the L.A. Riots 25 years ago.
Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell midseason 3 billboard
From the fires of anarchy to the flames of the underworld and this devilish billboard for Adult Swim's returning live-action comedy, Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell.

Speaking of mythological creatures and Neil Gaiman's best-selling supernatural novel American Gods was getting the small screen treatment this month.

Guy Ritchie's 2000 crime caper Snatch was being remade for TV, with Rupert Grint starring in the Crackle original series.
Handmaids Tale series premiere billboard
Margaret Atwood's acclaimed 1985 dystopian novel, The Handmaid's Tale, gets a TV remake on Hulu with Elisabeth Moss as one of the unfortunate women living under the rule of men in a totalitarian regime.
Twin Peaks Return billboard
Meanwhile 1990's quirky crime drama Twin Peaks is being revived for a new limited series continuing the events of the original David Lynch show, with Kyle MacLachlan reprising his role as FBI Special Agent 'Dale Cooper'.
Leftovers final season 3 billboard
HBO's rapture drama The Leftovers returns for a third and final season this month with these heavenly ad creatives starring Justin Theroux and Carrie Coon.
Mary Kills People series premiere billboard
And speaking of angels of death, Caroline Dhavernas stars as an ER doctor helping to euthanise terminally ill patients who ask for her help in Mary Kills People on Lifetime.
Bosch season 3 billboard
LAPD Detective Harry Bosch returns for a third season of Hollywoodland trials and investigations, if he can survive being framed for murder.
Angie Tribeca season 3 billboard
And also in the world of cops, police parody Angie Tribeca is also back for a third season of spoof crime-solving.
Silicon Valley season 4 billboard
Startup tech comedy Silicon Valley also returns for a fourth season this month, and it looks like the Thomas Middleditch may be pulling the plug on their Pied Piper company.
Girlboss series premiere billboard
From the world of high-tech to high fashion, and Netflix's Girlboss comedy adapts Sophia Amoruso's best-selling autobiography for you to stream at your leisure, and these series launch billboards certainly bring a burst of vibrant colour to the city skyline.
White Queen series premiere billboard
Starz limited series The White Queen gets a sequel this month with The White Princess, continuing the adaptation of Philippa Gregory's best-selling historical novels, The Cousins' War.
Famous in Love series premiere billboard
And from princesses to Hollywood starlets, and Bella Thorne finds herself Famous in Love in Freeform's latest bingeable drama.

This April Chelsea Handler was back in the skies for the sophomore season of her rejigged Netflix talk show with this hilariously tongue-in-check retro housewife ad creative.
Bill Nye Saves the World series billboard
Plus Bill Nye the Science Guy was the environmental and scientific hero and educator we need at the moment to help save the world in his new Netflix series, especially when the current administration continue to roll back all the ecological protections, deny climate change and choose greed over the future of our planet.

Also on the small screen, Netflix continues to stream enlightening documentary series like Five Came Back, about filmmakers who risked their life to bring people the truth of World War II.
Hot Girls Wanted Turned On series billboard
Plus the acclaimed 2015 documentary film about Florida's amateur porn industry was getting a docu-series spin-off, with this cleverly designed ad creative along the Sunset Strip for Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On.

2014's provocatively titled film Dear White People was also getting a TV spin-off on Netflix this month, and I can imagine this series launch billboard wouldn't be so welcome in some parts of this racist country.

Coming out from behind the camera as writer and producer, Prentice Penny was getting super-sized for his new TruTV series about living life in style, Upscale.
Talk Show Game Show series premiere billboard
Plus Guy Branum was also getting the giant-sized billboard treatment for his new show, Talk Show the Game Show, which pits comedians and celebrities against each other for the title of best guest of the night.
Giant World of Dance series premiere billboard
After years of Fox's reality dance competition So You Think You Can Dance, it looks like NBC want in on the action in a big way with their own version, World of Dance, with celebrity judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Ne-Yo.

Former Funny or Die series The Gorburger Show was bringing the strange and psychedelic to the skies of the Sunset strip this month with this Comedy Central billboard for the show about a giant blue monster (puppeted by T.J. Miller) who takes over a Japanese television station.

Plus this month you had to resist the urge to reach up and pop this bubble wrap-themed billboard for Moshe Kasher's late-night current events talk show Problematic.

This graphic icon visual gag billboard cleverly teased the return of Adult Swim's animated Mike Tyson Mysteries for a third season.
Giant DanTDM YouTube Red series billboard
Meanwhile online personality DanTDM was getting super-sized for his YouTube Red series, DanTDM Creates a Big Scene, about the behind-the-scenes exploits of his live show tour.
Guerrilla series premiere billboard
Showtime's new gritty drama series, Guerrilla, steps back in time 1970s London, when racial and cultural tensions bubble over and political activists are forced to become radical militants.

Plus twin comics Keith and Kenny Lucas were getting animated for their latest stand-up special on stage in Brooklyn.

In the world of entertainment, this year Adam Devine gets to host the MTV Movie Awards, this year adding TV categories to the list of winners.
Atlanta season 1 Emmy consideration billboard
And speaking of accolades, it'll soon be Emmy Awards campaigning season around the skies of L.A., but FX has already gotten off to a quick start for their shows, like the new Donald Glover rap scene comedy, Atlanta.

Plus The Americans bold season five key art was adapted for their Emmy consideration billboard.
Fargo season 3 Emmy consideration billboard
And FX's movie spin-off series Fargo was also hopeful for recognition for the third season of the crime anthology series, in particular Ewan McGregor playing two very different brothers in the show.

As you can see it's been a busy month in L.A.'s skies for television this month and I'm sure it'll only get more jam-packed when the other studios ramp up their Emmy consideration campaigns and start advertising their summer TV offerings.
