New costumes from the big and small screen on display around L.A. of late...

I've spotted an eclectic selection of costumes on my travels in Tinseltown in recent weeks, with costumes and frocks from cinema and TV screen, and genres ranging from indie dramas to World War II epics, American history and modern drag culture.

Meanwhile mid-July these WWII costumes from Christopher Nolan's intense new epic Dunkirk appeared ArcLight Hollywood, complete with airplane fighter cockpit.

I thought the movie was an amazing spectacle, oddly emotional and enthralling, and if you're a fan, be sure to check out these Dunkirk movie costumes designed by Jeffrey Kurland in more detail, including those worn by Harry Styles, Cillian Murphy, Jack Lowden and Barry Keoghan.

Towards the end of July these original costumes from Kathryn Bigelow's new movie Detroit arrived in the Hollywood cinema foyer.

Franchie Jamison-Tanchuck was Costume Designer on this 1960s-set movie which explores the 1967 Detroit, Michigan 12th Street Riot and the Algiers Motel incident and shines a spotlight on another hidden chapter of America's black history.

RuPauls Drag Race judging gowns
One of my guilty pleasures is RuPaul's Drag Race, so whenever I get the chance to see any of the Glamazon's gowns on display I jump at the chance. I mean, who can resist the sequins, feathers and fabulousness.

This time Mama Ru's judging frocks were exhibited at her Pop-Up Shop at the Sweet! Hollywood store in the Hollywood & Highland Center at the start of August.

If you're a fan of the reality drag competition, make sure you take a closer look at these spectacular RuPaul's Drag Race judging gowns from multiple seasons.

As you can see, there's always something to see around Hollywoodland, sometimes it's just a case of knowing when and where to look...
