Watching the solar eclipse West Hollywood style...

This morning's solar eclipse in L.A. was a much sunnier affair than in the rest of the country, but it was still pretty cool to behold with our special viewing glasses.

Taking to a rooftop in West Hollywood to watch we listened with other neighbours to a special playlist created by a friend, including such hits as Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Bad Moon Rising', Madonna's 'Ray of Light' and David Bowie's 'Moonage Daydream'

Being from the U.K. I couldn't help but remember one of my favorite TV commercials for Jaffa Cakes from 1999, which is obviously the best way to enjoy a solar eclipse.

We only saw a partial eclipse around 10.20am and the sky never went dark like other parts of America, but everyone enjoyed the crescent sight when we shared around the in-demand glasses. Plus its as fun to see all our neighbours out on their rooftops and balconies, as if aliens were landing.

Let's hope we make it to the next time there's a solar eclipse in the U.S., which should be in 2024 and then 2045.

Science is real folks...
