Behind-the-scenes movie costume and props treats on display in La La Land this holiday season...

Temperatures are dropping and the nights are drawing in, sadly the wildfires are still raging, but there's one thing you can always be certain of at this time of year in L.A., the movie costume and props exhibits are coming thick and fast in the run up to awards season. Here's a cool collection of the latest wardrobe and screen-used film props on display this holiday season.

First up are these outfits worn by Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep in Steven Spielberg's new biopic, The Post. This movie about freedom of the press couldn't be more timely and Ann Roth was the Costume Designer responsible for evoking 70s workplace fashion with these costumes from The Post.

Another movie hoping for some awards season attention with this costume exhibit is Phantom Thread, which is reportedly the last acting role for Daniel Day-Lewis. Set amid the glamour of 1950s London, Mark Bridges is the Costume Designer on this film about a high society couturier who falls in love with his strong-willed muse.

Be sure to take a closer look at this trio of film costumes from Phantom Thread on display.

And finally, I've see Star Wars: The last Jedi twice so far and see something new every time, so you can imagine my delight at seeing these original costumes from the new installment in person at the El Captain Theatre along Hollywood Boulevard.

Michael Kaplan is once again Costume Designer on this epic sci-fi saga set in a galaxy far, far away and if you're a fan like me, be sure to check out all these Star Wars: The Last Jedi costumes on display.

Let's hope 2018 is as fruitful for these movie exhibits at the last twelve months have been in La La Land...
