The holiday season is in full swing in the skies of L.A. and you know that immediately after Christmas Day these festive billboards will start to feel dated. But until then, enjoy this selection of festive things to do, drinks, technology, travel and other lifestyle billboards filling La La Land's sprawling December 2017 skies.
Festive billboards
This month Universal Studios Hollywood was making the holiday season even more magical with Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Disneyland was lighting up its attractions, like It's a Small World, for visitors this merry holiday season.
Plus you could also entertain your kids by taking them to see all their favourite Disney characters on ice this December.
And speaking of ice, The Queen Mary had their annual Chill: Ice Adventure Park to entertain visitors in Long Beach this month.
Meanwhile if rollercoasters are your thing, Six Flags had Holiday in the Park with Santa Claus to provide some festive thrills and chills.
This month it was also Happy Honda Days in SoCal for those drivers looking for a new car this Christmas, although I'm not sure you'll be able to fit that down the chimney.
Plus Westfield's newly revamped Century City mall was getting in the party season spirit this month with this fun ad creative.
Drinks billboards
In the world of spirits, Absolut Elyx was making a big statement about its vodka along the Sunset Strip this December, just in time for the gift-giving season.Plus Ketel One was showing off its non GMO credentials for all those worried about what their vodka is made of whilst they drink it down at their Christmas parties.
Don Julio Tequila was also on hand for a merry Christmas, because as they say what we need is what we have.
Dos Equis and their new Most Interesting Man in the World were getting ready for the New Year's Rose Bowl American Football Playoff Semifinal.
Also in the world of beer, Corona Extra was encouraging their drinkers to enjoy their days off, at the beach, or in the comfort of their own home.
Travel billboards
This month Alitalia airlines was trying to tempt Los Angelenos to enjoy the delights that Italy has to offer as a holiday destination.
Performing arts billboards
And in the world of performing arts, Cirque Du Soleil had their latest spectacle to entertain audience members this festive season, Luzia.
Technology and telecommunications billboards
If you were wondering what to get the music lover in your life this Christmas, Shinola was showing off its Canfield headphones in a big way along the Sunset Strip on the side of West Hollywood's Andaz Hotel.
This December Google's Pixel 2 definitely increased its out-of-home presence in the city skyline with lots of different ad creatives, rather than simply along the Sunset Strip.
Let's see if it'll help them steal some smartphone share from Apple's iPhone this gift-giving season.
Verizon finally changed its ad creative after many months along Sunset Boulevard at Crescent Heights Boulevard, but sadly the dull white billboard simply became a boring black ad creative.
Meanwhile this holiday party season ride-sharing app Lyft was thanking all its drivers and encouraging them to keep dreaming big.
And this Mobile Wash app billboard was a nice use of emojis to get its message across in a fun, quick way.
Retail billboards
In the world of retail, Target was blowing its horn to let everyone know that their L.A. store was remodeled and ready for the festive deluge.
Sports billboards
UCLA basketball players have been in the news lately causing international incidents and they were also in the skies of L.A. this month.Meanwhile the L.A. Kings ice hockey team were offering a way to cool you down and get your bloody thumping this sports season.
Book billboards
For those looking for literary stocking filler ideas, crime thriller novelist Michael Connelly was serving up his latest Harry Bosch detective book.
Cause-related billboards
Meanwhile this holiday season the Animal Activist Watch was shining a light on PETA in the city skies and questioning their animal kill rate, compared to their huge spending on consultants.
And finally this month, I can't think of a better way to end this roundup.
It's great to enjoy the holiday season and celebrate with friend so family, but at this time of year make sure you stay vigilant and resist hate in all its forms, whether it be oppressive GOP tax bills, undermining investigations into Russian collusion, the administration imposing forbidden words on the CDC, Dreamers worried about losing their DACA status, racist or anti-LGBT sentiment this time of year when we are all supposed to come together. Let's celebrate equality, diversity and hope for all no matter how rich or poor we are.
Make sure you also check out last year's festive drinks and lifestyle billboards and stay tuned over the festive period for more snapshots of December's movie, music, TV and fashion billboards gracing L.A.'s holiday skyline.
Here's to a very merry few days to come...
