This month there have been a smattering of new movie and music billboards filling the sprawling skies of La La Land, from indie films to Hollywood blockbusters, new tunes from streaming services and music awards shows advertising outdoors. Here's a collection of fun film and music billboards from around L.A. this March 2018.
Movie billboards
First up is the teenage romance Midnight Sun starring Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger, based on a 2006 Japanese movie in which a teen girl with a disease that prevents her from going out in sunlight finds love, but struggles to tell him about her condition.
Love, Simon was bringing the first gay mainstream high school romantic comedy to the big screen and the coming-out movie also had a fantastic locally-tailored billboard campaign.
Meanwhile Zoey Deutch was starring in the dark comedy-drama, Flower, about a rebellious teen who teams with her new step-brother to get justice against the teacher that he says abused him.
In the world of box office blockbusters the giant robot Jaegers and monstrous Kaijus returned to do battle on the cinema screen and in the skies of L.A. this month.
Fans of the sci-fi action film franchise can also check out all these other cool Pacific Rim Uprising movie billboards.Plus Steven Spielberg was filling the skies with pop culture nostalgia with all these illustrated billboards and movie homage street posters for the new sci-fi film, Ready Player One.

In the world of video game adaptations, adventurer 'Lara Croft' was getting rebooted with Alicia Vikander in Tomb Raider and fans can check outta all these costumes and props from the movie.
Speaking of video games turned into films, The Rock was helping Rampage burst onto the big screen and heralding the arrival of the giant gorilla and his enemies with this dramatic special extension cut-out.
Meanwhile Avengers: Infinity War was teasing us with the this billboard for the upcoming Marvel Studios superhero extravaganza.
And the movie adaptation of Disney's A Wrinkle in Time had this cool 'Be a warrior' wall mural ad along Melrose Avenue this March.
Plus the mischievous garden ornaments were back for a comedic animated sequel in Sherlock Gnomes.
In the world of grownup comedy, three friends are on the verge of getting their video game financed when their benefactor is taking hostage in Game Over, Man! (the name taken from Bill Paxton's famous line in 1986's Aliens).
And in Blockers the parents were trying to stop their daughters from losing their virginity on Prom night with these fun cock bird silhoutte-themed ads.
In Tyler Perry's new psychological thriller Taraji P. Henson was feeling bitter and betrayed by her husband in Acrimony.
Plus The Strangers were back ten years later to supply the horror this month in their Prey At Night sequel.
Whilst Lucy Hale was getting ready for April's Friday the 13th with her new horror flick, Truth or Dare, and the game that turns deadly.
Real-life husband and wife, John Krasinki and Emily Blunt, are teaming up up for the new horror, A Quiet Place, where the Earth is taken over by creatures who if they hear you, they hunt you.
The Crown's Claire Foy is moving on from being the queen in her new psychological thriller Unsane, where she's involuntarily committed to a mental institute and followed by her stalker. Steven Soderbergh apparently shot the movie entirely on the iPhone 7 Plus.
In the world of biopics, rapper Roxanne Shante gets her true story told growing up in the early 1980s around the dangerous streets of the Queensbridge Projects in NYC in Netflix's Roxanne Roxanne.
Meanwhile Al Pacino channels Penn State coach Joe Paterno in the aftermath of the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal in HBO's telefilm.
And Judd Apatow brought us The Zen Diaries of Gary Shandling, a two-part documentary film about the stand-up comedian who died in 2016.
Whilst The Dating Project is a documentary that follows five people trying to find true love in this era of social media, dating websites and hookup apps.
Music billboards
In the world of music after The Grammys at the end of January it was time for another industry awards show with the iHeart Radio Music Awards 2018.This time around the festivities were hosted by DJ Khaled and model Hailey Baldwin.
Once again the streaming service Spotify was shining a light on the hottest new artists like Post Malone and his new single, Psycho.
The Swedish music platform, which is gearing up for a company flotation on the stock market also continued to highlight the singers and songwriters behind hit tunes too, like James Fauntleroy.
Spotify was also promoting the second studio album by rapper Lil Yachty, called Lil Boat 2.
Plus it was breaking new ground with a collaborative single, Psychopath, by independent singers Nina Nesbitt, Charlotte Lawrence and Sasha Sloan.
Meanwhile What We Started is a documentary about the electronic music scenes about DJs Carl Cox and Martin Garrix.
And DJ Diplo was dropping his latest EP in the skies of the Sunset Strip, rather appropriately called California.
And not to be left behind by Spotify, Apple Music was supporting Puerto Rican Latin trap singer Bad Bunny in the skies this month.
Meanwhile it really was month for DJs as Norwegian Kygo was headlining Wynn Nightlife in Las Vegas.
And DJ Marshmello was raising his profile with these two billboards around L.A., the rubber duck ad creative is especially tongue-in-cheek.
Whilst in his other billboard he was collaborating with Anne-Marie for their single, Friends.
Canadian rapper Roy Woods was getting some outdoor ad support for his debut album, Say Less.
And Australian singer Courtney Barnett was enticing people to tell her how you really feel with this teaser billboard.
As these examples prove, the city skyline has been just as busy as ever, and that's not even counting all the TV, fashion and lifestyle billboards also gracing the L.A. streets and skies.
