Recent film and TV costume exhibits around L.A. this summer...

After a deluge of cinematic costume and prop exhibits in recent months, of late there's been a bit of a lull over the summer, which is to be expected. Here are a few of the cool and free displays that in have spotted in recent weeks though from television and film.

Next up are some of the elaborate costumes from Netflix's lavish Queen Elizabeth II historical drama, The Crown.

This collection of Emmy-nominated costumes from The Crown's second season were designed by Jane Petrie and were photographed on display at a temporary exhibit at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills in July.

Fans of the TV series can also enjoy a closer look at some of the costumes from The Crown's first season on display at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum last year.

And finally for this roundup, the movie Skyscraper may not have been a huge box office success this summer, but it was supported by this clever Art of aging exhibit at Arclight Hollywood at the beginning of July to illustrate how Dwayne Johnson's shirts were distressed during the disaster action movie.

The costume exhibits may not have been in great abundance of late, but these examples still managed to provide some valuable insights behind-the-scenes of Hollywoodland...
