Winter TV awards consideration billboards in L.A.'s November 2018 skies...

Even though the winter awards season mainly focuses on movie Oscar hopefuls, there's still plenty of campaigning going on in the skies for TV shows to nab coveted Golden Globes, SAG Award and Critics' Choice nominations. Here's a collection of the 'For your consideration' billboards standing out in the skies of Hollywodland this November 2018.

A Very English Scandal For your consideration billboard
First up is this Union Jack flag creative for Amazon's political cover-up drama, A Very English Scandal, which tells the story of 'Jeremy Thorpe' (played by Hugh Grant), a member of Parliament who was tried and later acquitted in 1979 of trying to murder his ex-lover (Ben Wishaw).
The Sinner season 2 FYC billboard
The USA Network was also supporting the sophomore season of its anthology crime drama, The Sinner, this month and hoping to earn acclaim for its stars, Bill Pullman and Carrie Coon, in a story about a child who apparently murders his parents.
Better Call Saul season 4 FYC billboard
Better Call Saul was hoping to repeat its Golden Globe success and its three previous Best Actor nominations for the star of the Breaking Bad spin-off prequel, Bob Odenkirk, for the drama's fourth season.
Alienist Superb FYC billboard
And after four Emmy nominations and one win, for Outstanding Special Visual Effects, The Alienist period thriller was hoping to score some more nominations this season.

HBO always campaigns hard during awards seasons and this winter is no exception with the skies filled with billboards like this example for its freshman Emmy-winning comedy, Barry, starring Bill Hader.

And speaking of comedy, tech satire Silicon Valley was campaigning for its hilarious fifth season.

Plus Dwayne Johnson was hoping the fourth season of Ballers would get some recognition this year.
Sharp Objects For your consideration billboard
It's obvious that HBO is hoping that Amy Adams and its Sharp Objects adaptation would be popular with critics and voters alike, giving the limited series some super-sized support along the Sunset Strip.

And after winning for her supporting role at the last Golden Globes for Big Little Lies, can Laura Dern repeat her awards success for her starring role in The Tale telemovie?

These days the premium cable network faces stiff competition for viewers and awards alike from streaming giant Netflix, who also likes to spend big on outdoor campaign ads like for the second season of its money laundering drama Ozark, although it helps now that they've bought 35 Regency billboards in L.A. for $150 million.
House of Cards season 6 FYC billboard
The sixth and final season of House of Cards, Netflix's first original scripted drama, was also getting some 'For your consideration' promotion this month.

And the sophomore season of 1980s women's wrestling dramedy GLOW was also hoping for some nominations this winter.

Not to be outdone, fellow streaming platform Hulu was also supporting its shows and talent, like the sophomore season of its adaptation of dystopian drama, The Handmaid's Tale.
Castle Rock Sissy Spacek For your consideration billboard
Plus Sissy Spacek and the Stephen King series Castle Rock was also in the spotlight this November with this vibrant ad.
Looming Tower Hulu FYC billboard
And finally, The Looming Tower mini-series was also being showcased for consideration, especially after scoring four Emmy nominations recently.

As you can see there were loads of shows and limited series vying for attention around L.A. this November and with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announcing this year's 76th Golden Globe nominations on December 6, 2018, we're sure there'll be even more nominees in the city skyline in the coming weeks.

TV billboards standing out in L.A.'s crowded November 2018 skies...

How much TV is too much? These days with all the broadcast and cable channels, streaming services and online content providers there's not enough time in the day to watch the sheer onslaught of television output. Here's a collection of just some of the new shows and returning favourites trying to grab passersby attention this November around the City of Angels.

Walking Dead s9 Rick Grimes final episode billboard
First up is this 'Rick Grimes' billboard for The Walking Dead who faked us out this month with the character's farewell. Andrew Lincoln's character wasn't eaten by zombies, but injured and spirited away by helicopter to continue his journey in a series of feature length TV movies for the undead franchise.
Games of Thrones final season 8 teaser billboard
Another series teasing its end this month was Game of Thrones with memorable moments from the past seven seasons, like the infamous 'Red Wedding', to excite viewers for the show's eighth and final season.

Hulu continued to support its new Blumhouse horror Into the Dark anthology series this November, with this Flesh & Blood ad creative following last month's The Body.

The Vikings returned to the skies this month for the second part of their fifth season with this foreboding billboard.

And YouTube was providing some super-sized support along the Sunset Strip for its new sci-fi series, Origin.

National Geographic was also returning to outer space this month with the second season of its Mars drama about its first manned mission to the Red Planet.

These Mars 2 billboards are very timely with NASA's recent unmanned probe landing and just remind you that science is awesome.

And Syfy was also launching into the starry void with its Nightflyers series, based on George R. R. Martin's 1980 novella, which it initially teased in mid-September, but is now back in the skies in November.

The Little Drummer Girl was another drama based on a novel, this time by John le Carré, to grace the Sunset Strip skyline this month.

And speaking of espionage thrillers, Epix's Berlin Station was back for a third season of CIA missions and deception.

Starz Counterpart was also back in the skies with his vibrant orange ad creative for its sophomore season of espionage, intrigue and conspiracy in parallel worlds.

Showtime was shining a light on American Presidents, past and present, and the justice system and FBI in its new documentary-series, Enemies.

Plus the limited series, Escape at Dannemora, was dramatizing the 2015 prison break of two murders in upstate New York.

One documentary series I'll be checking out is the one about Dogs and I'm sure it'll be a tearjerker.

Meanwhile the docudrama Medal of Honor recreates the true stories of service members who've been awarded the accolade for their courage.

In the world of comedy, Netflix's animated series F is for Family was back in the skies for a third season.

Plus there were plenty of stand-up specials on offer, like The Degenerates series, with comedians filmed in front of a live audience in Las Vegas.

In case it wasn't enough that YouTube and Apple are getting into the TV arena, Snapchat is jumping in with a new reality relationship docu-series, Endless Summer.
