October 2019's Halloween and lifestyle billboards haunting L.A.'s spooky skyline...

This October there really seem to have been less Halloween-themed billboards compared to previous years, but that's just my observation driving around the streets of L.A. Here's a collection of those spooky outdoor ads, plus more lifestyle billboards trying to catch eyeballs this month.

Halloween billboards
Attack of the 99oween 99c Only Stores billboard
The 99c Only Stores always put out great ad creatives at this time of year, just like this Attack of the 99-oween example.

Make sure you compare this ad to previous Halloween-themed billboards from the discount retailer from years past.
Los Angeles 2019 Haunted Hayride billboard
Another staple in the fall skies is the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, always bringing creepy billboards to the skyline for its annual frightful festivities in Griffith Park.
Oogie Boogie Halloween Time Disneyland billboard
Universal Studios Hollywood doesn't seem to advertise on standard billboards at this time of year anymore, maybe that's to do with its vicinity to Hollywood, but Disney's theme parks in Anaheim always have some spooky ad creative to entice visitors to enjoy their family-friendly brand of Halloween Time.

This year The Queen Mary in Long Beach was celebrating ten years of its Dark Harbor Halloween attraction with this ghoulish ad creative.

Eye-catching TV billboards in L.A.'s October 2019 streets and skies...

This month the skies may have been crammed with movie, music, fashion and lifestyle billboards, but it was also inundated with new TV billboards, many of them hinting at the Streaming Wars brewing in the month to come. Here's a snapshot of the attention-grabbing billboards for original shows and returning favourites this October 2019.

Its On CBS All Access Star Trek Picard billboard
First up and speaking of streaming, CBS All Access was once again shining a light on its subscription platform with their It's On outdoor campaign and forthcoming series like Star Trek: Picard.
It' On CBS Why Women Kill season 1 billboard
They were also showcasing the first season of their new decades-spanning series starring Lucy Liu, Why Women Kill.
Its On CBS All Access Tell Me A Story billboard
Plus CBS All Access was also teasing the sophomore season of Tell Me A Story starring Paul Wesley.
Morning Show series premiere billboard
Technology giant Apple has sold music, TV shows and movies on its iTunes platform for years, but this November it plans to Launch Apple TV+ with flagship original series like The Morning Show, starring Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell and Jennifer Aniston.

And it may feel like only yesterday that the skies are filled with Emmy consideration billboards, but it's time again to start the outdoor campaigning for other industry accolades, so critical darling Fleabag is hoping to add to its six Emmy wins for its sophomore season with the help of fun FYC billboards like these.
Transparent musicale finale FYC billboard
Plus Amazon Prime Video was also providing outdoor consideration support for the musicale finale of its groundbreaking dramedy, Transparent, this month.

As you can see there's just too much television for any one human to watch at the moment, and it's only going to get worse with more streaming options in the future. The upside is that some of the shows are really high quality in turns of production and premises, so let's hope this platinum age of storytelling continues.
