Eye-catching TV billboards lining L.A.'s stormy March 2020 skies...

Usually I bemoan the abundance of television show billboards filling the city skyline and not enough time to watch all these dramas, comedies, documentaries, game shows, stand-up specials and reality programs. Well that all changed in a big way this month thanks to the worldwide pandemic making it safer hunker down at home. Here's a varied collection of TV billboards gracing the streets and skies of Tinseltown this March 2020 to give you some viewing inspiration.

This month the eighteen season of singing competition series, The Voice, was getting some super-sized support for it new coach Nick Jonas.
Little Fires Everywhere series premiere billboard
In the world of drama, Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington were on fire starring opposite each other in Hulu's adaptation of Celeste Ng's Little Fires Everywhere.
Making the Cut series premiere billboard
Over on Amazon's streaming platform, former Project Runway co-hosts Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn were reunited for their new fashion competition gig, Making The Cut, and from its Paris setting to its million dollar prize money and judges like Naomi Campbell, they obviously spent big on the production budget.
Tiger King series premiere billboard
Over on streaming giant Netflix this month, Tiger King seems to have been entrancing subscribers with its crazy original docu-series about murder, mayhem and madness.

Netflix's South Korean period supernatural thriller Kingdom was also back for a second season to entertain audiences.
Ozark season 3 billboard
And the streamer's hit money-laundering drama Ozark was back for crime cartel shenanigans with its third season.

And speaking of third seasons, teen dramedy On My Block was back for more life in L.A.'s violent South Central neighbourhood.

Netflix was also delivering more coming-of-age adventures with the Medieval drama, The Letter for the King.

The streaming giant continues to attract big talent, with Octavia Spencer bringing the limited series Self Made: Inspired by the life of Madam C. J. Walker, about the beauty mogul and first U.S. female millionaire.

If you were looking for some stand-up comedy to provide some much needed laughs, then the streaming service had a new special from SNL's Pete Davidson, Alive from New York.

Plus comedian Bert Kreischer was letting it all hang out in this billboard for his stand-up special, Hey Big Boy.
Hot Ones Game Show billboard
Sean Evans was translating his Hot Ones concept into a new game show that mixes trivia and mouth-scorching hot wings with this ad creative.
Outcry series premiere billboard
And in the world of sports documentary series, Showtime's Outcry was delving into the true story of a Texas high school football star wrongfully accused and convicted for sexually assaulting a four-year-old-boy in 2013.

The premium cabler was also offering up more comedy with the sophomore season of its 1980s Wall Street comedy-drama, Black Monday.

ABC was bidding a fond farewell to its hit sitcom, Modern Family, with this billboard for the final episodes of its eleventh and final season.

Plus the broadcast network was also advertising its new romantic comedy series, The Baker and the Beauty.
Jimmy Kimmel Who Wants to be a Millionaire billboard
And Jimmy Kimmel was set to host a special eight-episode celebrity version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

NBC was also shining a spotlight on its new chosen family drama Council of Dads, based on Bruce Feiler's 2010 novel.

And speaking of book adaptations, HBO was supporting the second season of My Brilliant Friend with these vibrant Mediterranean ads for the female friendship series based on Elena Ferrante's best-selling Neapolitan novels.

If you were looking for more comedy this March, then the second season of Tacoma FD was back with more firehouse laughs.

Whilst Adult Swim was offering up a new series about a trio of deranged housewives with Three Busy Debras.

If you were wondering how to save some more and still watch loads of television this month, then PlutoTV was trying to catch your attention with this super-sized ad on the side of the Mondrian Hotel.
Chance Rapper Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards billboard
And finally for this assortment of outdoor ads, Chance the Rapper was scheduled to host this year's Kids' Choice Awards for Nickelodeon, but the event was cancelled because of the coronavirus.

As you can see, whether you stream, watch cable or broadcast channels, or view online, there is more than enough entertainment for you and your family to enjoy, even if some TV shows are cutting their seasons short or delaying production until normal business can resume.

With it being election season, I'm surprised to not have seen more political billboards like this one for George Gascón for L.A. District Attorney.

Whilst the law offices of Jacob Emrani were channeling President Obama's old 'Hope' campaign  imagery in this ad creative.

With cinemas, concerts, sports events and large gatherings all cancelled at the moment due to the Coronavirus, it was strange to see this sporty Lakers billboard for First Entertainment Credit Union (but people still need access to their money).

Disneyland and other theme parks may be shut down for the foreseeable future, but I still spied this Chewbacca billboard earlier this month.

Movie and music billboards entertaining L.A.'s skyline in March 2020...

Even though you may not be able to go to your local cinema to watch a movie, there's still films be streamed and music to be downloaded and listened to at home during this COVID-19 crisis. Here's a cool collection of movie and music billboards standing out in the skies of Hollywoodland this March 2020.

First up is this dramatic winged Manticore billboard for the animated fantasy adventure Onward, which is a lovely story about loss and brotherly love (and now available to buy digitally and coming to Disney+ early in April).
Mulan 2020 movie billboard
Meanwhile the highly-anticipated live-action version of Disney's Mulan was striking a warrior's pose in the city skyline this month, although the movie has now been delayed until cinemas are reopened and it's once again safe for mass congregations of people.
Giant WW84 movie billboard
Another film delayed so that people can enjoy it first on the big screen is the Wonder Woman sequel, WW84. Gal Gadot has ditched her familiar superhero costume for winged golden armor on this giant-sized billboard and I wonder if casual passersby will understand this ad creative is for the iconic DC comic book character.
Trolls World Tour movie billboard
Trolls World Tour was set to bring the musical family fun to the big screen this April and now it looks like you'll only be able to stream the animated sequel on-demand, which may help relieve the boredom of your young ones for an hour or two.

From kids entertainment to a sci-fi horror flick staring Keri Russell, and Antlers is another film that will see its theatrical release delayed this spring.

The Fast and Furious film franchise does huge business in China, so there's no surprise to see the next entry in the Fast Saga, F9, delayed until next year,

Netflix was offering up some new movies this month, including Spenser Confidential starring Mark Wahlberg and Winston Duke, loosely based on Robert B. Parker's detective novels.

All the Bright Places was supplying some teen romance, adapting Jennifer Niven's 2015 novel of the same name, with the help of Elle Fanning and Justice Smith.

Meanwhile the streaming service's new comedy Coffee & Kareem was channeling the 1982 buddy cop movie 48 Hrs and other 1980s action-comedy flicks in its outdoor advertising.

Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani were due to star in their comedy The Lovebirds on the big screen at the beginning of April, but now with cinemas closed the movie will apparently be distributed via Netflix instead.

Amazon Prime Video was another streaming service offering up an original movie this month with the black comedy thriller, Blow the Man Down.

And over on Lifetime, The First Ladies of Gospel are getting the biopic treatment as The Clark Sisters take the spotlight this April.

Also in the world of music, singer Lauv was brightening the skies with multiple colourful billboards for his debut album, How I'm Feeling.

And before the stay at home lock down, these extension cut-out billboards for the Omnia nightclub in Las Vegas with resident DJs Calvin Harris and Zedd were standing out in the skies of L.A.

The was also a cool Tiesto billboard for the Hakkasan nightclub, which followed up similar eye-catching DJ billboards for the venues from last year.
