May 2020's movie and music billboards around L.A...

With cinemas closed and summer blockbusters pushed back to later this year or the next, the skies of L.A. has seen a shortage of movie billboards this month. Here's a collection of billboards for films and documentaries available on-demand, cable and streaming, plus the few new music billboards spied around Tinseltown too.

Movie billboards

First up is this movie billboard for Scoob!, the rebooted Scooby-Doo franchise, originally planned for release in theatres but then switched to on-demand.
Disney Artemis Fowl movie billboard
From animation to another offering to hopefully keep your kids entertained whilst your family is sheltering at home, the Disney adaptation of the Artemis Fowl fantasy novels. Again this movie was scheduled to be released on the big screen until the coronavirus came along and it will now premiere on the Disney+ streaming service mid-June.
Wrong Missy movie billboard
To keep you laughing this May, Netflix was offering up the dumb comedy, The Wrong Missy, starring David Spade and Lauren Lapkus.

Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani's romantic crime-comedy, The Lovebirds, was also streaming on the subscription service this month after skipping its planned cinematic release in April.
Banana Split movie billboard
And it may have been released in March, but this vibrant billboard for the teen comedy, Banana Split, was still standing out in the skies of L.A.
AKA Jane Roe documentary billboard
In the world of documentaries, FX was bringing us a film about the plaintiff in the historical Roe v. Wade abortion rights case, AKA Jane Roe.
Natalie Wood HBO documentary billboard
Plus HBO's latest documentary was focusing on the life and career or Natalie Wood in What Remains Behind.
HBO Max launch billboard
There was a new entrant in the streaming landscape this month and that was HBO Max, offering up a mix of movies and television, from cinematic classics like The Wizard of Oz to pop culture sitcoms like Friends.

Lady Gaga Chromatica album billboard
And after delaying its launch due to Covid-19, Lady Gaga was finally taking us on a wild trip to Chromatica, her sixth studio album.

As you can see there really were fewer movie and music billboards gracing Hollywoodland's cityscape.

Make sure you check out last May's movie and music billboards as a comparison, and stay tuned for more billboard round-ups from this month.

Try and stay safe and sane until then...
